I am biased because I launched it, but this Tablet PC is literally the best computer I've ever used in terms of voice recognition and the View Anywhere display. I used to leave the office and work on my boat using this tablet all the time. I miss this computer actually. I answered my emails in bed using just my voice. Great PC - they don't make them like this anymore.

I have recently been watching Stargate Atlantis & I saw these tablets being used & I had to find out what they were. I couldn't believe tablet computers were avaliable back in 2004 when the show was first filmed. On the show they also had a prop up docking station with a keyboard. It is very reminiscent of how the surface pro keyboard looks.
@starboyk2 жыл бұрын
I have one of those keyboards! they work as a clamshell to protect the screen, or you can pop it off and open its legs up. Rest the tablet in there, and connect via USB and you're good to go. honestly, these things aren't the most ideal resolution, age, what have you, but i find them FANTASTIC for using things like Skethbook Pro or Photoshop. Haven't used it in a few years (replaced by an ipad pro), but they're hard to beat for the cost, durability, and performance.

I have a J3400 and a J-Series keyboard. So far all though it’s not working so far (the BIOS is corrupted, but you can replace the BIOS flash if you really want to). The only problem is that replacement parts are almost impossible to find at best for any Motion Computing tablet, including the screen!
@FrederickMarcoux3 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: those tablets (same model) were used on a TV show called Stargate Atlantis. The staff all had one for the show. It could honestly be the same ones if the guy bought the stocks back from MGM Studios!

These tablets have a Pentium M 733 CPU. I have the exact same model tablet as well as a Dell Latitude X1 with the exact same CPU. Windows 10 happily boots on the Dell. On my tablet it stays on the spinning boot animation forever, but this is probably due to some strange hardware issues it has. On Michael's Windows 10 should boot without issue. However, there are no WDDM drivers for the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 integrated in its 8252 chipset. This means you are limited to using the unaccelerated Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver which will hinder graphical performance.

They tried to design it for tablets, they even had tablet versions of Windows ever since Windows 3, but they were never went far enough in designing the UI for tablets. Then with 8 they finally went "fuck it, let's go full tablet" and everyone hated it, but with 10 they then started slowly going back towards being more desktop-suitable while keeping the tablet UI around.
