What do you have your eye on for your next piece of gear?

Have you used the Line 6 Helix rack unit? I’ve been thinking about getting either that or an Axe FX rack unit. Currently I use either Amplitude 5 or my Headrush MX5 for guitar tones. I also have a couple of Neural DSP plugins (the new Mesa Boogie plugin is CRAZY good sounding) but I need a rack unit setup. What do you think?

The Helix is a great unit! Fractal tends to have the best sound and the most ability to make super fine adjustments... sometimes unnecessarily small adjustments, but with that comes the higher price. And the question I ask the most is, will anyone in the audience notice the difference between a $1500 Helix unit and a $2100 Fractal unit? If setup properly, I doubt it. In my opinion, the top modeler units are all within 10% of each other of sound quality. If you give a pro engineer a Helix they'll make it sound better than a novice with a Fractal Axe FX 3 for sure. All that to say, my axe FX 2 rack has been one of the best (if not the) best purchases of my musical career. It's been in many studios and stages across the west coast and it's never skipped a beat. So I can't say enough great things about Fractal and their products. So my recommendation will always be Fractal. But if you're not a studio session player and really only using the unit to jam and rehearse, and don't need all the fine tuning adjustments, I'd possibly save the money and snag a used Helix off Reverb for $1200.

@@ZachWirchak I appreciate the feedback brother. Yeah I think the Helix will be the route I take.
