Hi Melissa! Colourpop has a shadow stix in the shade Plum Tart that is a cheaper alternative to VB. I use my shadow sticks as eyeliners all of the time :)

If you haven’t yet given up on the Rare Beauty liner, try warming it with a hair dryer just a little- which softens it - and maybe it will apply easier. Kind of a pain, but might be worth a try if it’s otherwise good. P.S. Belated happy birthday wishes and many happy returns!
