I believe that very oddly worded ability basically lets vader force the defender to regroup on the squad leader. I'd have to read the cards side-by-side, but you may be able to draw the enemy into the open by force throwing the squad leader? also, misheard you at a hilarious point when talking about the model. "yeah, we'll need to straighten out the lightsaber... just use hate." ... yup! that's Vader's recipe. :D

You can already force push the unit leader into vader or push him away. The ability lets you rearrange the unit as you see fit so you could target the heavy weapon and kill him if hidden by cover
