I finally got a used pair of Thursday Captain boots from eBay (I am on SSDI so I am absolutely not the market for $180 boots, so they are not losing a sale by me buying used for well under half price). They are not exactly what I would most want but they fit and will definitely be worn. What i really want is the English riding paddock boots I had 20 or 25 years ago, that were traditionally made in Romania or someplace like that, you could flex your heel down like you have to in the stirrup and the Thursdays are too rigid through the ankle for that.

The boots themselves are made in Indonesia / Spain / Other places. So they are a middle man, not a maker. Similar to Bright Shoemakers ordering stuff from Sendra in Spain or Dundas ordering from William Lennon & Co Ltd.

There's a company in the UK called Lanx - they operate in a similar part of the market here in the UK - I've bought a couple of pairs of their boots - their products are nicely made, many of them in the UK. Would be interested in Rose Anvil's take on Lanx

Can you please do a review of QLTY’s moc toe boots. I’ve been looking for a pair of comfortable work boots because I walk all day at work and I need them to be all black for my uniform. And they’re the only decent ones I could find with a black wedge sole but I didn’t want to buy them without knowing how quality they really are so I’d really appreciate a review.

I'm curious as to why, or how, you can refer to these or any of the other boots I've seen on the channel as "dress boots"? Admittedly I've not been through all the videos here or at the main channel, but with the exception of the cowboy boots I don't think I've seen anything other than work boots or casual boots featured, ever.

Truman’s are great and I have a few pairs of those also. Caswell and Truman both use a lot of the same leathers too. The big difference I see is in the styling. Truman’s aesthetic is more work boot whereas Caswell’s aesthetic is more sleek and stylish.

The Caswell boot, reminds me of the Viberg's , 310, somewhat more streamline but has the same general aesthetic. The toe is not as pronounced as the 310's as well as the arch in the upper part of the boot. And the leather is interesting and should develop a nice patina and fading of the color giving it a nice look😊

Looks identical to a Thursday Boots Vanguard boot. Costs $100 more.

I’ve owned the Thursday Vanguard and own several pairs of Caswell’s. They are not in the same league. The Caswell’s are much more robust. They also use premium leather from several of the best tanneries in the world. The Caswell footbed is also all bed tan leather with cork, whereas Thursday uses foam and fiberboard in the theirs. Thursday does use cork to fill the welt cavity. The Vanguard is a well made boot and may look similar at a casual glance but they are not the same.

These are not budgett friendly. I pulled up the site and none of them are under 100 EDIT none under 200 either. Budgett friendly is under 100 or 200. Like Some of Jim Green or thursday or Oldmulla or silver bull or Bonanza boots. Not all of us are rich and some of us in this day and age are having trouble making ends meet. Recently I had to even take on a second job.

You won't like this but you aren't doing yourself any favors by buying cheap (unless second hand). In the end you will likely spend as much or more, as you will replace cheaper items faster. Just save, you can do it. You'll be happier for it.

I clicked on show all and sorted by price and it didn't show anything under 300 but then when I click on the link in this videos description that takes me to the shoes they are under 200 but trying to find them on the site is a bit more work but can be done. I think they just need to fix the shop all.
