Good to see that the guides are aligned to the spine of the rod. Although they say it doesn't matter, but to me it does, even with multi piece rods.

ok i caught a 2lb bass today within my first few casts, the rod performed awesome, has a very tactile tip. the last yard is very responsive and tends to flex from the mid point of the rod outwards. the first 2 1/2 feet are very stiff but the rest of the rod is very flexible like the 636 allowing you to feel everything happening with your bait. i i think i missed a 4-5lb just cause i didnt set the hook. i will not be returning this rod i freaking love it and was actually introduced to the triple B series by you. i do a lot of UL hiking and this is the perfect all around backpacking set up for me. its is basically a light action the last 31/2 ft and a stiffer setup the first 3 1/2 ft. im not that ell versed in differences between all the triple B series so just ask if there is anything youd like to know about it. yes it did have a spine that bent inline with the eyelets just like you have shown in your videos

I actually tried that! It didn't work hahaha. The floating guide rubber feet wouldn't hold the position under load.

would have been interesting if it worked out. Oh well. It was worth a try. So do the floating guides move around at all during normal use? I've been building with multi part travel blanks because, as you said, almost all telescopics on the market are complete garbage. Usually they're lifeless blanks made of mostly fiberglass with huge crappy ceramic inserts held in with plastic retainer rings. I'm actually considering the one you have here. I hope the #8-20 is accurate with not too much bend in the back half.

I don't do much sw fishing so I may not be the best person to ask, but if I had to recommend something for ultra light baitcasting in general I would say you can try the Shimano Zodias 168L BFS and the Shimano Scorpion BFS, you could also look into the Shimano Brenious range of rods and reels. It would also depend on your budget and any other requirements you have. I can't recommend any of my reels unfortunately cos all of them are 2009 models and are out of production.

Does the guide and section twist when in load with fish?

Nope so far I havent had any issues with section twist on any of my telescopics, any of that usually happens if I dont extend the rod properly, it's gotta be extended snug but not overly tight.

+Pancake Ninja if you can find a Palms Molla telescopic it is about $50 cheaper and a very good rod, but I suspect it's out of production. I just bought the Kastking Blackhawk II telescopic from aliexpress. It is only $55 and it uses a similar sliding guide system as the bbb, it even has more guides. I have the Medium 6'8 one and it seems like a decent rod but i have only used it twice so I don't know how durable it is.

Hello..i have purchased a daiwa ballistic seatrout rod to go with daiwa revros 3500 reel..it says on the rod 10-40 Gms. But nothing about the line...what line rating would you recommend for this

I would estimate that the rod is rated for 12-25lbs or 12-30lbs, you can look into those ranges for mono lines or 20-30lbs braid. Though there are schools of thought that would recommend braid up to 65lbs for a setup like yours, especially western largemouth bass anglers.

I don't have too many Daiwa reels but if memory serves, that would translate to a shimano size 4000-6000 reel so I would say that it's definitely up for it, the revros is a workhorse!
