You are a remarkable lady! Taking in all the special needs Leo’s and giving them the best care I’ve ever seen takes a supremely special person. Thank you 🙏 for everything you do for the reptile community and the continued education of these glorious geckos.

@@JessicasAnimalFriends Hey would you take a beautiful leopard gecko that has quit eating and losing weight. She is beautiful, a really orange looking body. A big head. She has been surviving on calcium carbonate. I have taken it out of the cage but did not help her start eating. She loved meal worms and crickets but turns her nose up to them now. Or if you have any suggestions for this grandma I would appreciate it. I really would love to gift her to you at my expense.

I had to come visit to see Tikki come to his forever home!!! I totally fell in love with him the day Gabby and Chris took him in. He's such a sweet boy and really has come a long way in his healing!! I must also say that Claire is adorable. Her little face is really too cute, even as a birth defect. I'll definitely be checking out more videos!! Thank you for taking care of the ones that need it most! Happy Holidays!!

Jess, my neighbors Gecko is at least a year old. We got both of ours around the same time last year. I made sure she had everything proper that she needed and for the longest, her Gecko was always much larger then mine. I haven't seen her Gecko since about Aug or Sept. When I saw it, it looked fine. Recently they left for a 2 week holiday vacation. They got back and she sent me some pictures of her Gecko asking me if she looked skinnier. I couldn't tell from the pics as I wasn't holding her or have my own near her to kinda judge her. Today she sent me msgs asking me again about her Gecko (I wasn't home before when she questioned me but am now) and so I went to see her Gecko in person. I was shocked to see this poor Gecko and I have some questions. First thing I told her was to take her to see a vet. She's suppose to call them tomorrow. She is so lethargic. She doesn't want to lift her head. Open her eyes. She doesn't want to move. Next I noticed dirt or blackening around her teeth. I don't know if it's just very dry dirt or maybe her teeth are going bad? She does have a good substrate (BioDude BioTerra). I examined her poor little toes and some have been amputated by stuck shed. Other toes are hard from stuck shed. I'm sad and concerned about this but it's on the list. Not the priority atm. She does have calcium w/o D3 in the enclosure. She says she does dust and gut load but I honestly don't believe her. Just like she said she had no issues with stuck shed, I'm sure this isn't true either. No water in her enclosure. She does lack her moist towel in her humid hide but I'm not sure how often her humid hides towel stays humid. Now on to my biggest concern, I finally literally pestered her to the point of moving and was so sad to see her dragging her body on her belly and her back feet not even really being used. I'm pretty sure the doctor is going to say MBD but maybe this is all some parasite. Her enclosure has a DHP bulb that's maybe a year old, her Arcadia Shade dweller hasn't been changed in close to a year, she throws only super worms into a bowl for it to eat when it wants. I don't think she true dusts and feeds. So, my question in this whole long post is, have U ever seen or heard of MBD forming later in a Geckos life? Is what I am trying to describe sound like MBD? I don't see nothing down the spine but her legs, especially hind look almost like they are turning the wrong way (the joints) and is this something that is to late to save? Again, I suggested vet first. I hope she takes her tomorrow and I can update U. I am honestly not even sure she will make it through the night. She was so lethargic and would lay bent almost in a circle from nose to tail and not want to straighten her body out. She limbs are stiff feeling. Her feet almost toeless nubs. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Hi Jessica I’m a new rescue leopard gecko mom and I have a question for you? she don’t have many claws and only has nubs for toes but she gets around fairly good but I’m just wondering with my thermostat probe for the heat pad where should I put the probe should it be on the ground or in between some rocks or can I let it hang close to the ground her tank is a 40 gallon she has towels in her cage I’m going to be introducing terra Sahara substrate in a box for her to dig if she chooses to do so I’m doing things slow with her so she doesn’t get stressed out she doesn’t seem to mind the towels but I’m still working on her cage getting things perfect for her. I’m worried about ambient heat temp and what it should be some ppl say 90 to 95 I’ve got hers set at 84.5 on the hot side heat pad says it’s 84.7 and on the cool side says 78.3 and I’ve got a humidity hide for her.. like I said I’m learning as I go but I’ve also got 8 other reptiles and they are day lizards and we keep their cages at 90 and 100 degrees because they are actually desert lizards we save iguanas and Side Bloch lizards so their heating is much different then the Leopard geckos so if you could give me some other tips that I may be forgetting or not know then that would be awesome and I would very much appreciate any and all help from you or anyone else.. I’m also a meal worm super worm and Dubai Roach breeder but for my reptiles only at this time so I do have several projects I’m currently working on . Thank you for your time and you have a wonderful day
