ya it went fast, everywhere! i mostly play deathwatch and ultramarines, but have a nice dark angels, and blood angels army, that i'm looking forward to updating/building out. i'm excited for the massive 40k shakeup, with the new detachments for every faction, and december dataslate. 2025 is going to be fresh, and fun!

I went to the GW store and bought it there to ensure that I got it. $260 😬 after tax. It was OK because I was going to buy everything in the box already- only downside is I already have 1 set of DWK and 2 sets of Dark Angel command squad.

ya probably a good choice, since it was gone so fast! nothing wrong with having a 3rd set of DWK, they are very good, and lots of people are running 3 squads. the dark angels command could be run as Company Heroes if you like! very good, cheap unit, decent potential for someone like Azrael

for sure. you can use any of the codex marines (including everything in the starter set) in a Dark Angels army! cheers

I didn’t buy this for a couple reasons, 1 it sold out almost instantly, and 2 I don’t play space marines lol but if I did get this here’s how I’d expand to a full 2k points, it’s more thematic than competitive. Lion is the warlord obviously, Belial and terminator chaplain each leading a squad of DW knights, Azrael leading 6 inner circle, Lazarus leading 6 inner circle, Asmodai leading 10 hellblasters, and finally a redemptor dread for even more plasma goodness. 2000 on the dot. Will it win any tournaments? Who knows and who cares, it screams Dark Angels and that’s what matters. Also it’s a shame that the loyalist primarchs are so small, the daemon primarchs just look so much cooler.
