Best part of traveling I-75 or 85 is passing through Atlanta. Although, having lived here since 1987, I can tell you the traffic through downtown can be a pain in the butt sometimes; the freeway has 13 or 14 lanes through downtown, and they'll jam up at the drop of a dime, anytime, anyday.

Best thing about where I lived though, was being able to see all the Air Force aircraft flying over from Dobbins Air Base. C-130s, mostly, though I was able to see a few F-16s and even a F-35.

@@unclecoolie Bias aside, it is pretty good. Roads and homes are in good shape since almost everything has been built in the last two or three decades. Not perfect, especially since traffic is garbage around central Marietta, or The Square, but the economy is healthy.

You make driving from state to state a better choice than if I were to take an airplane. More to see on the ground. Someone once said, “I don’t take the camera out with me. My eyes are the camera for me everyday.” Very true. I could take cinematic shots just from riding in the car with you. Case in point, those bikers that passed you added character. It's much better with the situational awareness graphics you've always used. It helps your watch time, as it let's you know what is coming up when you know the state. I much prefer that info on, rather than off. Same with the heading and altitude info. I'm sure it's a pain to do, but it makes you stand out from the rest.
@unclecoolie5 жыл бұрын
I agree completely. The only reason I don't have any GPS information for this video is because the .fit file that stores the GPS information from the camera got corrupted and unusable. That's the reason why I split my Key West to Virginia trip into three parts, and the last part - Knoxville to Dulles Airport - will have full GPS information. I'm currently editing that part now and hope to have it uploaded in the next few days. Then I'll finally start on the real-time drives of my east coast road trip.

We don't actually get on I-4 in this video, although when I first was on what is now I-275 in the early 60's after it was first built, I-4 was actually the road that went over the Howard Frankland bridge to St. Pete because I-75 (now I-275) north of Tampa hadn't been built yet.
@unclecoolie5 жыл бұрын
I heard that about I-4 as well. I used to travel to Tampa for business a couple of years ago, and every time I went back to TPA Airport, traffic would back up on that bridge, and frequently there were many people constantly cutting in front of me to merge left in order to stay on the highway.
