There is a pure green window it’s just the speed of your animation fluctuates every shot but if you lock in on your visual cue you can green everything I assume if your jumpshot has a good timing stability the variance between shots will be less

Shooting definitely should be difficult. The problem 2K is having is that the shooting has been so easy for so long that average players think they’ve been amongst the elite. The reality of being average or below is hurting their feelings.

a big reason making it so difficult to be consistent, especially the way they did it, is that not everyone plays on a monitor and with great internet, so that can be game breaking for most fans like me who used to be able to cook up even with pretty bad latency

I could be mistaken but didn’t 2k labs say the green window will move even if the shot animation is exactly the same? That means there is no way to know where the window is regardless of your visual cue. You have to just hope. Edit: Also, the report cheating option is going to be super toxic. People will get mad and report you if they’re losing or mad because you didn’t pass the ball when they were open.

There is no set 100% pure green window. The same animation has different windows at different times. That’s the point of everyone’s frustration. The game “makes” you miss by altering your window even if you release at the same point of the animation.

For example, if you have push then you need to watch for the push. I can promise you there’s no forced misses. I’ve had plenty of games shooting 100% from 3 on like 5-6 attempts. I rarely miss and when I do it’s normally bc of bad catch animations or something like that messing me up. If you don’t believe me then rewatch the video

No game developer should be altering your gameplay when you spend tons of money to play. If you're good at the game you deserve to be good. Green Windows should be determined by your overall attributes that's the whole point of making a build so if you're a three-point shooter you should be good at 3 pointing if you could time your shot. 2K dev are literally altering your jump shots every time you shoot that makes no sense.

I feel like rhythm shooting has that pure green window that y’all are looking for but people refuse to learn or try it out. More often than not I feel that my shooting is better (more greens) when I use rhythm shooting, plus idk it feels easy to me because it just makes sense, I hold down till I get to the Set Point mark then I move my stick up to match my player flicking or pushing the ball. Standstill shots are faster while some fades are slower but to muh brain it works thankfully. Y’all should give it a shot, I believe this is their way of introducing a skill gap. Learn this different but similar 2 motion mechanic to achieve better shots. Regular 1 motion shot or square button can still go in but now have a slight rng chance. Rhythm shooting does not. At least I hope it don’t then it would be dumb lmao. It may also allow u to shoot over tight contests too, happened to me once ina game idk if that was luck or a mechanic.

There’s a lot of games out there that can be difficult to some in developers or the owner will say great. Looks like you have a learning curve to accomplish. I think, that goes with what 2k is doing. Make game modes partner up with your settings. If you go in to the rec with your team the whole team and opponents should be on high risk or normal risk. It’ll make it so that casuals stay with casuals and sweats play against other sweats. But it’s an issue if you’re on low risk and I’m on high, that means we are 2 different skill levels but the game wants us to finish the race tied up.

The RNG is a necessary evil if I'm being honest. 2K24 had a lot of zenners in all game modes. I'm thoroughly convinced people want zenners to run the game. Also of note about the steals, people who say "you can't get 7 steals in a game it's unrealistic" never had a good coach in their life. A lot of the cross court passes we make in the game isn't something you see often in the NBA, because good defenders will pick them off.

I 100% agree with post God. I've been loving it. You don't get PG/SG doing unrealistic running 3s going 7/7. You actually feel rewarded for shooting well and respect your a opponent for a hard shot. No badge, no hot zone, no shot-taking IQ on top of bad ball movement to wide open players and ninjas expect to shoot lights out. 2k25 is solid, a little tweeks are needed here and there, especially sluggish movement, low-rated players stealing and intercepting the ball at a high rate needs tuning, other than that everything else is a learning curve, so lab up and learning.

Everything is laggy, movement is sluggis in all game modes, perimetar contest dosent work unless you jump on someones head and thats considered a light contest in most cases even with 90+ perimetar, there’s no shooting percentage difference between a 78 and 99 rating everyone is shooting the same, interceptor teleport’s you, drive steals are abysmal, every baseline drive gets you out of bounds and the smartest solution to all of the problems is rhythm shooting… The only positive thing you can say about it is that it loads up.. and you can buy clothes in stores.. Solid waste of time and money unfortunately

Confirm that RNG is not in the game, The green window is based on the animation on screen the window isn’t just moving arbitrarily. It’s moving with the motion of your player, so you have the same green window in the same chance to green the shot if you follow the animation. The truth of the matter is most people are going out on high risk high reward before you really understand how the game works. Drop it down to low risk low reward for a couple of days and find your shot and bump it up gradually over a week and see if you aren’t shooting better.

You have to find a good looking jumper and releases you like visually and get to labbing up your release que in the jumpshot builder, keep in mind in 2k25 the jumpshots are faster so big man jumpers are actually valid if they're B+ release speed

I like it this way. I like a challenge. I'm not a super sweat but I've always been anelite shooter. I shot 17% the first day and figured it out. Adapted and now im at 51%. Even if they change it back for the casuals. They gone be shooting 50%. And I'mma go back to 70%+

Yes every perfect release should be a bucket that’s the whole point of a PERFECT release and there shouldn’t be a one or 2 second delay when I try to shot so I let it go thinking it’s not working then I shot a very early

All i know is my cue should be the same cue even if the timing is different or not and thats what feels off it feels more like rng even when timing your cue perfectly Also if you’re wide open you should not have that big of a difference in timing realistically if its based off your cue

Every year, without fail, the game is fine, yet the cheeseballs and casuals complain about it until they dumb it down to allow everyone to shoot like Tyceno. I think shooting and defense are fine where they're at. I say this as a point guard who's shooting around 45% from three. That's realistic.

it is a SKILL GAP, in knowing your jumpshot timing , especially on high risk. the fact tht those of us all on high risk are playing w the most room for penalty, i believe if we time it correct it should go in… why add whites going on, for the casuals if you’re just going to limit those playing with maximum risk settings

I think they need to leave the shooting just how it is, it’s making the game more competitive, they want it too easy, learning to shoot on the proper animations is a skill and it’s going to take time to adjust

This is a simple fix the creators of street hoops need to come back and make a game so people can go complain about the arcade mechanics this is NBA basketball not street hoops 2K is doing a phenomenal job. The people who want to choose the game complain the most good players don’t wanna adjust. It seems the men today are weak and reflecting through a video game. I see a lot of folks complaining about the game, but its being more realistic they making it where you have to utilize your team a bit more instead of seeing one person dribble all day and then shoot all the shots fr .. in real life even if you perfect your shot you will still miss majority of the time even if your open and yes even curry struggles in real life when it comes to shooting go look at his percentages game to game .. yall need to stop complaining and just hoop and use your teammates instead of trying to iso all day plain and simple

so just to be that one guy. i used my zen this morning and tried using an old script for shooting and funny enough they worked i tried the whole 6 shots. and i just set it to 585 ms and was guaranteed greens 4 in a row and then i bricked. but once i went in for a dunk. it reset that algorithm.. so zens work

I think that making the game more difficult for cheaters with the excuse to make the shooting percentages more realistic via unrealistic mechanic behind shooting is stupid. I like 2K 23 shooting. I just feel like this is just too much for me to like. I don't like missing shots that's not fun I don't think everybody should make every single shot that was a bunch of bs.

I think shooting needs a *Little* buff, maybe a 50ms shot difference towards a 25ms towards on the lightly early and a 25ms on slightly late or what ever your release may be 🤷 😂what I do know is , if this is the “New” shooting and *NBA2k* is having to go this route to battle with cheaters, make it where if *Cheaters* if be caught red-handed on their gameplay, on streams or whatever how you can catch them, they should be *Console Banned/Ip Banned* I know it sounds harsh but bro they’re people on here actually playing *Legit* the whole *Community* shouldn’t have to suffer due to people being dishonest with there gameplay. Idk 😂 that’s my opinion
