This song has been my go to with my ups and downs on my sobriety. Now here I am 1 year and 3 months sober from heroin. No subs, methadone or rehab. I got my family back together, a home and 2 vehicles. Never thought in my life I’d get where I am today. God is good. Anyone struggling with sobriety don’t be afraid to reach out. Honestly help is there. Biggest suggestion is change who you surround yourself with. Much love to everyone

NSZN GAMING Great for you brother!! Very happy & proud for you, even tho we don't know each other but shared a common issue.. 16 yrs of opiate, pain killer slamming that bumped up to street fentanyl slamming & smoking the last 1.5 yrs of using..Had it all,the wife kids, career, house etc..Lost it all & more..Today I am single,8 months clean, but on a methadone program,am again working for 6 months full time & have been able to wrestle my addiction down & take control once again of my life!! Yes God & His Son Jesus is Great!! They surely heard my prayers when I was alone & crying many times for help to get me straight & needing Both to guide me & gave me strength to fight it!! Very very thankful & I still give my thanks everyday more than once a day To The Father & Son!! Again, congratulations brother!!!Best of everything to you!!!

Core memory I used to play this song every night at close at work. It just happened to be my favorite. The first night I played it I noticed my boss sang along with it. I kept doing it and he kept singing it every night. He was such a happy dude. Such a pure guy and everyone’s favorite. He quit and so did I and we never spoke again. Idk, my life was just simpler back then. Just something that makes me smile thinking back on

My Grandpa died 4 Months ago (June 4th). Every week before he passed away I would go to check on him in the hospital. He always had CNN or ABC Family on his Tv. There was a movie that featured this song on ABC Family, I don't actually know the name of the movie. I looked over at him and he was smiling, that was the last time I ever saw him smile. At the funeral and wake I was in charge of the music, for the occasion I wanted to not think of how he's gone and will never come back. I thought of it as just another step of life and to remember all the good things he's done such as, he served in world war 2. Back on to the music. I choose to place some casual music played at wake and at the funeral before we put the body in the hearse, I played this song and I was In tears. At the funeral In the cemetery we had current navy seals march along the cemetery. Thanks for this song "Uncle Kracker." Info: Rank in WW2, Private.

Which made her vulnerable as it wear Jack started to heat her senseless with words. He may as well of beat her ass . So one time he was gone outta town she lost her whole bottle of pain meds she called me to help her find some cause she said if I don't figure it out He'll lock me up she was extremely upset and scared I was able to fix it I'll never forget the look on her face grateful doesn't gv just, until the bear hug friendly and extremely appreciative to me it was much much more . I loved this song as a kid too! It followed me into adulthood as well when I picked up my own heroin addiction (I'm clean now). It's one of those songs you have to catch onto in order to get the darker meaning, but as kids we weren't really capable of grasping the concept. It's told from the drug, heroin's, point of view. As kids we skip over such the tragic and darker meanings of movies, tv shows, songs, books, etc. I watched the Land Before Time later in life (that's right, hate on me) and I was sobbing! I miss having the wonder and innocence of a child. Everything was so much happier with less worries and more imagination.

First time I heard this I use to work in a crazy busy karaoke bar, hectic time was 11pm-3am, this was once played at the start off my shift and instantly vibed with it. Then during a manic shift someone stepped and belted it out. Everything seemed easy from that point for the remaining chaotic short-staffed shift. Nice bit of nostalgia right here👌
