If I understand correctly, The Forgotten will also be released as a single as on the Twilight soundtrack and played on the radio under the Green Day name. So...yes, i would say it was originally released on the Twilight soundtrack. But thats just my perspective.

No offence to Jason, but it feels like he fails on every god damn solo he plays. Sure, when Billie play the solos, he do them longer and add some stuff. Dunno if Jason tries to do the same, but it just doesn't sound so good.

Hinikuna Look at a lot of the Trilogy (or American Idiot album) solos, where Billie plays them live versus Jason. I think Jason is fantastic and a sick guitar player, but he doesn't always match the tempo with the song, and a lot of times he extends the note bends too much, and it produces an off key sound. Whereas Billie (because he wrote the parts!) kills them, and just performs better imho. my .02

Yeah, I agree. Jason didn't play it so smoothly there and yeah, while I agree that the stuff Billie plays is indeed simple minor pentatonics/blues scale and Chuck Berry-type double stops, he is definitely skilled at keeping it going and not hitting into walls or making it monotonous. He's very good at improvising and knows the right licks to play at the right time, etc. I dunno how long Hinikuna's been playing the guitar but I've been playing for about nine years now, and I definitely feel that overall Billie is a much better musician than people give him credit for (he's been playing since he was 11 and has had some really solid musical influences growing up), but they're all friends and it's not like it really compromises the performance so it's all good.

***** For fuck sakes. I'm not being a bragging fuck like jgzero18 but I've played in about 5 bands and not only is it easier to play these songs with a second guitarist, it's NECESSARY. Everything from Warning onwards needs a second guitarist, that's the way the songs were written. Even back in the Dookie days, Billie Joe double tracked his guitar and panned them left to right to get a fatter sound, that's why in 95 his live guitar sound was extremely over-distorted and it sounded like shit. Jason has been playing with them since 1999 and he's an official part of the band now. Like angelini69 said, Green Day grew up, you should do the same.
