This beautiful survivor first year, 4 Speed GTX had it's engine rebuilt 20 years ago, and sat in storage ever since. Our mission is to go through this entire car, check and repair all systems and get her road trip worthy again.

The first hemi car I ever rode in was this model/year. I was totally astonished by the power that it up out and when I got out I wanted to kiss the ground just for being alive. A college kids rich Daddy got it for him his senior year in high school and he showed up at college with it. After my ride in it I got into my '57 Ford with a 390, three deuces, and a four speed and couldn't believe how slow it was!! After college I got a '70 RoadRunner for myself by working 3 jobs for about 2 years.......

I fell in love at the sound of the door opening! My brother ordered a SuperBee, before shipping over to Vietnam, Green, redline tires, black bucket seat interior with headrest, 440X6 4speed!!! My dad kept care of it until 75 when my brother returned to station in Norfolk! Wish I could have gotten that car! And I'm a Ford man!

That direct drive starter sound is unique. BTW, have any of you ever noticed that any old movie or TV show from about 67 to even present day, has a reduction gear Chrysler starter for almost every car or truck that gets started; even imports. It's a canned soundtrack. Some people hate it, some love it but it is very distinctive, especially when a Chevy starts and you hear the mopar starter. Sceh, geh, geh! Vroom. Gotta Love it!

Tony, can you do some videos on that critical period between buying the car and tearing it down? How do you go through the car and assess the various systems? How do you decide what work needs to happen? How do you prioritize that work? Soooooo many projects die in this time. The new owner gets the car home and rips it all apart, just like he's seen on all the hot rod shows. Then he gets completely overwhelmed and nothing further happens on the car for 15 years. He eventually shovels the thing into a dumpster after the wife threatens to divorce him. How does a guy keep his dream car from turning into a nightmare in this all-important time between purchase and tear-down?
