Defense attorneys were excellent but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Their job is to advocate for their client so of course they are going to say they didn't agree with the verdict.

I thought they were awful. I'm not sure the State really had a case beyond a reasonable doubt. But the defense lawyers made themselves and her look sleazy with their bizarre strategies and putting up multiple witnesses who was obviously lying. She might have had a better chance of acquittal if they rested right after the State did.
