I don’t know why anyone is surprised he cheated. I recall watching an interview with him, where he said he did cheat. The dong Bed of Roses, he actually wrote for his wife. I’m not into cheating, not at all. For one how could you ever trust them again? People on here are saying she has a forgiving heart, sure she does, but what about diseases you could’ve caught ? People on here are saying, they stayed together through all of this… He loves her and she loves him ? Love ?? If he really truly loved her, he should’ve never cheated on her period !! I don’t think it’s a big heart she has. Many woman stay for different reasons besides love. Maybe she had so many children, maybe she knew she couldn’t keep the same living style if she were to divorce…many reasons but love is not one. The love was gone when he decided to cheat, her love was gone when she found out.

They can. It is. Marriage is hard. It's the hardest effibg thing I've ever had to do in my entire life and I have wanted to leave my husband a thousand times. If it wasn't for God asking me to stay and sacrifice my life for someone else like Jesus did it for me then I would still be living selfishly for myself. ❤

I was with my husband for 35 years. This is what I now know. When you discover he's been cheating, you never get over it. Kids and lack of resources bound me to him. I thought I could forgive, and I did, but i had to forgive day after day, year after year, and it wore me down. Forgiveness is not a once-and-done thing. I called time on our long union because I no longer wanted to insist he be faithful as that would make me his jailer. So I set him free and he's off and running. I've unexpectedly found peace at last.

I’m sorry. That’s a cautionary tale for women to be financially independent, men cheating and women putting up with it for material reasons is the oldest story in the world. My mother did work but when she was laid off after 30 years in the company, my father used her financial dependency as leverage. It’s super humiliating for her, to the point when my father’s mistress calls on the phone and my mother picks up the call she has to pass him the phone so they can talk. Just another cautionary tale. I’ve very low expectations of men, I’d never count on them to be faithful. In fact I could never fall in love because I don’t trust them. Even when they think I trust them, I really don’t, and I can cut them out of my life like the flick of a switch and feel nothing. For me it’s ideal, this coldness keeps me out of emotional drama, but I know it’s not for everyone. Every single man in my family cheated, from grandparents, father, uncle, EVERY ONE. My father says “all women are who***”, so yeah, I grew up around a stellar examples of men… But you know what, I really believe that rotten sample does represent most men, and whatever few good ones are the exception that proves the rule.

@@asmrcarousel Wow, that’s a great reply. I was a nurse on maternity leave when I discovered what he had been doing. Putting both my kids into childcare was not leaving me with enough money to pay the mortgage and basic bills. Only many years later did I become aware of social support benefits to get me over the hump. My case manager was either uninformed or unwilling to help me. There was no internet either to discover ways out. Yes, my husband was a player and a very selfish man but our boys have turned out great. There are at least (my) two wonderful young men out there.

I’m glad you found ways to overcome all the obstacles and get some support, you’re a warrior! And your sons have in you a great example of strength.

don't u realize as a female she was trapped. she gave her whole HEART to him and was totally in love with him. period. she was not interested in being with any other man but him. I am sure it was times they were separated that the public never knew bout. there were times she was just done with his cheatin behind BUT still loved him. truth be told their marriage ain't that much different than million of others whose wives stay no matter how much the husband cheats BUT she gets to do it in beautiful mansion with servants.

Why is anyone surprised that Jon cheated in his early days? He was in his twenties and he was beautiful and he had the world at his feet. Along with many women. Dorothea wasn't the jealous type. I met her when I was 24 looking for Jon at their home. I respected the fact that they were together and didn't want to interfere with that. I just wanted an autograph and a picture. Jon was away, out of the country for 2 weeks, Dorothea had told me this. 2 weeks later I went back and I actually met him got my autograph and took many pictures! Nothing more nothing less, his manager was with him they were on the way to New York. One of the happiest days of my life! I'm a Jersey girl and I knew eventually I would meet him, because that was my goal. Dorothea didn't have to tell me anything or when he would be back but she did, She wasn't threatened by any woman. Because she knew when he came home he would be coming home to her.

They're probably confused because he does kind of talk out of both sides of his face. He's said in many interviews he does and said in many interviews he doesn't. He's also said it's no one eles's business, but then makes it everyone's business because he's talked about it so much. I, myself, never thought he didn't cheat. I'm sure she knows he did and is okay with it. They don't have a prenup, so if she wasn't okay with it she'd have left with half a long time ago. What I do find surprising is that so many women are offended by it when many of the same women were hoping and praying he did back in the day.

I grew up in Perth Amboy. I remember when that band was just starting out. They played at the Playpen Lounge. The line went around the building. I know what it's like to be cheated on and it is devastating. It took me many years to get over it and forgive him. Thereafter I've stayed single for 18 years, too cautious to date again. Once trust has been broken, it can never be repaired.

@@JeanneMcNaney : I don't agree. It's something that ultimately is between the couple. With my first husband, infidelity may have been a reason to break up. With my second, although I was hurt, I did understand why it happened. I do believe in marriage vows and that cheating shouldn't happen BUT if and when it does, it's something for the couple to work out. Obviously Jon and Dorothea worked that part out. I'd suggest that most of it happened during their 20's before they were actually married and of course, Dorothea knew what she was signing on for when she married who had to have been the sexiest man ever seen in MTV videos. I'm NOT saying it is right. I'm saying that it's not for us to judge. It's for the couple to work out. I read above that Dorothea herself cheated, not knowing who Romeo's bio-Dad was. There's something to be said for not letting stupidity end what in their case has turned out to be a 40+ year relationship.

It doesn’t help matters.When you find out someone has cheated and they continue doing it? It is so tempting to go ahead and do it yourself (even if it’s emotional or to soothe your hurt ). It’s pretty common BUT it makes things worse and it doesn’t take the pain away .It increases it. It concerns me Jon continues to bring up his cheating (even if it was long ago). It almost seems as he is trying to triangulate Dorothea with his past choices. If so,it is narcissistic. Why not love Dorothea,be glad she stayed and focus on now instead of then?

Some constructive criticism: Get to the point, go through the point and move on to the next point (not circling back to a point you've already started and reiterating with a couple of items you didn't mention when you told it the first time). Can't tell if you like hearing yourself talk or you need some classes in how to put a story that flows together properly.

I babysat next door to John when he lived at home(he was a jerk)...I met Tico in 1979 in a bar called the Colonel's Garter(he was a sweetheart)....I made Alec Such pay to get into a club called Close Encounters where I worked(he was a pure A-hole!...but it was an EPIC moment to say the least)...Dorothea also worked at Close Encounters. I also worked with Zakk Wylde(not his real name) at Close Encounters along with Skid Row, before Sebastian. Oh what interesting times for sure! :X

In the early 80s they both worked for my friend who owned the Hunka Bunka in Sayreville. And John was an a hole then and his wife so so. I met him at one of the guys from skid row‘s house he was their guitar player, he was from South Amboy(I forgot his name, that’s how impressed I was). John was a paranoid short guy who his uncle made him famous when he gave John a song to record. She’s a little runaway. And trust me he wasn’t with his wife then and he thought he could have anybody he wanted. He was wrong lol maybe most women wouldn’t turn him down but I’m not like most women.Everybody knew he was a cheater back then. Leopards don’t change their spots. They were high school bf/gf and when the band started going big with Bon Jovi they were traveling all around the world and living the rock style and dating women. It seems like he ultimately got tired of that and realized that Dorothea was the true woman for him and asked her to go to Vegas and get married. This video left out some key info. There are only vague references, but they did not get married until 9 years after they first got together and there were a couple of breaks they took (he dated Diane Lane during one of the breaks). I still couldn’t have done it. The way he’s talked about it in other interviews I’ve seen is that he certainly wasn’t on the straight and narrow after they got married. Not defending him, but this video makes it sound like they were together since high school and stayed with him through everything which isn’t the case.
