The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived; Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are timeless, unchanging, eternal, unconditional love, peace, joy, compassion, wisdom, contentment and fulfillment; your true self is what all beings seek. Love love

Thank you Master Rinpoche. It's difficult to explain something that is non conceptual, but your simple example of the apple and the veil is enough to overstand, and also that enlightement is not to be attained but experienced. I am gratefull to know and recognize true teachings like yours.

Great video! I love the way he is able to mix a sense of humor with serious subjects. Before I found YMR’s teachings I always thought Buddhist monks were very grumpy people who renounced the world because they weren’t supposed to have fun.

Just as when peacocks wander in jungles of lethal poison, Although there are extremely beautiful medicinal gardens, The flocks of peacocks do not delight in them, But instead are nourished by the essence of the lethal poison; Similarly, when the heroes enter the jungle of cyclic existence, Although there are beautiful gardens of splendid happiness, The heroes do not become attached to them, For these brave-minded ones thrive in the jungle of suffering -verses from Dharmarakshita's Wheel of Sharp Weapons(the mahayana mind training). One of few heroes, rinpoche la thank you so much always ♥️ 🌈🙏

Either melt by devotion the sense of separateness, or burn it by knowledge-for what is it that melts or burns? Only that which by its nature can be melted or burnt; namely the idea that something other than your Self exists. What will happen then? You come to know your Self.

I love your videos. Your holiness don't you want to know and see where the first Tibetan Sangaram was opened solely for foreigners. This is north of Patna on the northern banks of the Ganges. Xuan Zangs lovely book led me to the Sangaram. According to him three Sramanas from across the SNOWY MOUNTAINS (From the area around 'Taro Co' lake in northern Tibet) crossed over to India on a pilgrimage to holy Buddhist sites. Indians fail to understand who they are and no one gives them food and shelter and sometimes beat them up. They were lying by the side of the road dying when the King rode up. He inquired about them and when they told him their story, the King realised a Sangaram was needed for foreigners only where Indians won't be allowed. So this can be regarded as the first Tibetan Sangaram in India. Those days Indians had pierced ears because they wore ear rings. Foreigners had unpierced ears so this Sangaram was for unpierced ears. Those days Indians didn't know about Tibet so this Sangaram was for unpierced years, meaning foreigners. Today that Sangaram is a village and that King is the local village deity. This story proves that Buddhism went to Tibet prior to Xuan Zangs epic journey to India. So Tibetans will have to study how and when Buddhism went to Tibet. Because Xuan Zang seems to infer that Buddhism went to Tibet much earlier than what the great masters claim today. I have made a video on this topic titled, ‘First Tibetan Sangaram in ancient India.’

How do I know if I have attained enlightenment? Are you enlightened?
@andybrown3016
@andybrown3016 4 жыл бұрын
The only true measure of spiritual progress is the degree to which you are free from thoughts. And being free from thoughts doesn’t necessarily mean not thinking but also not identifying with your thoughts. Be the awareness behind them, the silent watcher. Enlightenment is just a concept.
@JonasAnandaKristiansson
@JonasAnandaKristiansson 4 жыл бұрын
Doesn't work like that. "You" as a person, the illusory, will be no more when realized/enlightened. Another answer to your question: You know when there is no question about it anymore, no lack, no suffering. Enlightenment = Your natural state, unconditioned, pure.
