This is good to know. I am still in the early stages of learning to grow in Leca. All my plants have not grown roots out of their pots. When they do, I can be confident they are happy and healthy. Thanks again for great growing advice.

Great answer! I have the same thing with my plant roots in the reservoirs but the plants still get bigger.

Here’s my question… and I can’t find the answer anywhere lol.. can I grow directly in leca as I would in normal potting soil… no reservoir or anything? I live in a very rainy and humid area and I’ve tried potting soil, pure pumice, pure perlite and they all stay wet for too long so I thought maybe I could try leca?

Very interesting....given this presentation, I have a question. My plants are well established. We are going on vacation for 8 days. What is the lesser of all evils? Topping off my cache pots very high with water so they are fed for 8 days.....OR, using the same amount of water, and having them go 2 days in dryness????

So if they begin to go mushy etc like that will it spread to the whole root system, or it naturally stop itself? Thanks
