On a failed charge you move normal move distance, not the doubled one.

Rules mistakes. Failed charge does not gets you to run the full 8, you only run 4. Happened when both ghouls tried to charge the leader. Parry rules say you hava to always try to parry the HIGHEST attack roll. This also means that so long as at least one of the dice rolled a 6 (even if there is a lower one) you cannot parry any of the attacks (reason why swords are not really good). The Dregs attacking the downed inquisitor, there is no need to roll for who attacks. If both strike at the same time then the player can decide who attacks. While here makes absolutly no difference since it's the first battle, later on this is good to remember as it may make a difference where XP will be allocated. Things that could have been done better. In this game, when going into melee, the more attacks the better, it helps against parry and more chances to bring enemies down. Any melee model, where possible should be armed with 2 weapons over 1 weapon like flails or halberds or greatswords. As for the best weapon in the game, it's the club/hammer. Not only it is cheap, but getting enemies stunned more easily is a huge boon (again, only one handed weapons matter). This going strictly by the rulebook stuff, the rapier is actually quite good for a one handed weapon too. I suppose spears aren't bad either. As for the game results, wow, pretty bad results all things told. The losing warband barely got anything out of it though they did lose. That leg injury alone would be enough for me to think about retire him but heh, no gold for a new one and 5 heroes are needed to look for loot... On the winning side, one dead ghoul and one dead necromancer. Definitly the expenses and loss of XP on that character were not worth the victory. Talk about bad luck all around. I didn't particularly liked 2 things about your terrain. First off, it's very one dimensional. There is barely any buildings with second floors and mordheim is to be played with lots of builing offering 2nd and 3rd floors. I remember when I played (innitially reilanders but later miragleans, one of the tilean warbands) I used to position all of my warband in higher ground just to provide me that extra turn it takes the enemy to climb. Second (and it may have been only this specific time) The buildings seemed to all be set to match the mat so the streets kept clear and stuff. While it looks a bit prettier, it awefully limits how you can deply terrain and I'd hope this would not continue going forward.

Great game guys, a few things I noticed however that you didn't already correct yourselves. 1: you must have a direct path to charge someone, so the undead hound could not have skirted around like it did to charge. 2: when the vampire was knocked down near the end the other two Flagellates (not sure if thats spelled right) would have struck at the same initiative order as the first so they would have been hitting him before he fell. In this case they missed anyways so it wasn't a huge mistake.

Against the first Str 6 hits they would have ignored his armor but the later ones he should have received an armor save.

In the first round of cc the witch hunter shoud have had a second attack with his dagger (which everyone gets for free) if hes just armed with a sword. Super exited how the capaign will unfold and cant wait for more mordheim =)

The Captain may only shoot both pistols in the first round of combat if he has the "pistolier" skill. Otherwise it's only one pistol attach per turn (in the shooting fase or the first HtH round), so one regular attack and then the extra attack with the pistol, and if he had more than one attack, then all of them with the hand weapon and the extra attack with the pistol. And you may parry only the highest to hit roll, so even if the Captain he rolled 6 and 4, the Necromancer couldn't try to parry the 4.

You can't run when having enemies within 8(6? 4? can't remember.) inches, So the witch hunter captain shouldn't be able to run away from the two ghouls. Great game!

The Flails would not auto-hit during that last combat after the lord fell. All of the attacks were at the same Initiative step, therefore they all happen before he falls. If the dog attacks at a lower Initiative then he could auto-hit, but the other guys would not have.

around 15 to 16mins in it seemed like the charge rules seemed off. i thought you needed line of sight(dire wolf) and you have to charge the closest enemy target (vampire). forgive me if i'm wrong, its been quite a few years.

4+ vs all 'normal' Str 3 attacks. Str 4 gives you a -1 on the roll and so on. You also have armour piercing weapons. So first round vs Flagellants, no armour, after that back to 5+ save.

A knocked down model is automatically Hit, so a normal roll to wound. If Wounded, the model is Out Of Action, no injury roll needed.

A Shield too, which is +1 Armor Save I think. So he should have has a 4+ save, IIRC strength can modify saves down, but it needs to be strength 4+ to do that.

your supposed to pick which of the results of doubles/triples etc. that you want, but a common house rule is to use all of the results

Armor piercing is only on axes, and only -1. Also, helmets are not armor but a +4 save against being stunned, turning it into knocked down

when u knock someone down the other duds on the same init has to roll to hit so flagelents has to roll to hitt. u can only attempt to parry the higes roll u cant chose. love the game otherwise good to see Mordheim her...

I have seen a bunch of battle reports that use the first rule, where soldiers of the same faction with the same initiative roll to hit, regardless of the effects their allies caused to the victim (i.e. knocked down/stunned) but i can't find the rule in the rulebook.... and it seems to say that everything is in dscending initiative order, or rolled on d6's

Cullen!! Nimble is a terrible first skill pick! You will almost always be shooting into cover and over half range, which means hitting on 6's. If you move it is an additional -1 so 7's. And technically Mordheim has no way to ht on 7s, it doesnt have the rule 6, then 4. Even with the house rule to allow a hit on a 7, it is bad. Take trick shooter to ignore cover, or the one that allows 2 shots. Mordheim is a game of quantity over quality. You win by being less bad than your opponents, and the best way to do that is throw more dice.
