Common misconception about the homemade kitchen bomb ( I thought the same myself) it was set for like a min, the power was turned off in the Galley. When Tommy Lee Jones and Gary busy come in you can hear the command" turn those lights on" that's what set the bomb

I was under the impression that Ryback and Strannix actually knew each other, from the way they acted toward one another in the lead up to their epic knife-fight. Was Strannix the one who gave Ryback's team the bad intel that lead to most of their deaths in Panama? Or was he the one who Ryback punched out after Panama? Is that what we're supposed to take away from this (other than the fact that the knife-fight was FUCKING AMAZING, of course)? Was so thrilled to get the notification about this vid! Saw it on my phone while on break at work, and was super-excited to get home to watch it! :D

That's what I've always thought too. I remember reading something on IMDB before but supposedly in the OG script the intro was gonna be like Delta Force showing what caused Ryback to get in trouble at Panama, and the movie would have started from there with the shot of the boat. Can't 100% remember but I believe Strannix was his partner/intel guy and he was the one who messed up, but he tried to blame it on the CO hence why Ryback punched him. Strannix did it on purpose because he didn't like him. They were friends until something happened hence why he was upset to hear he was on the boat. But something happened during the filming and they cut it out.. honestly imo the movie never felt right without that backstory.

I worked on this movie it was my first of many was Steven Seagal and I can testify to the fact that Tommy Lee Jones is a royal prick and Gary Busey even back then was out of his mind. We shot this movie in Mobile Alabama. And I was one of four crew members that were on set during the cake scene. I actually had to work the cake along with, and special effects men.
