Long-time Bulls fan and so I have been suffering a long time since D. Rose blew his knees. Found a bit of a refuge with OKC the past 2 years. Just a very fun team to watch. Very grind it out mentality. Even their superstar was somebody most didn't take too seriously during his early years but just ground it out and became an all-star. Also one of the most beautiful offense in the league.

In terms of the twitter tech, I agree about the running of the platform being trash. But with like 80% less staff they kept the platform running with no server issues and added community notes pretty quickly which I think is the best feature ever done - no more fake news :D

the 2nd and 3rd place "medal system" take away from the hype when a team wins in that moment and to keep that energy going straight into winning the trophy or cup and presenting it to said victor and get rush off stage relativity quick...the problem is will players keep that energy to just chill, would the 2nd place team want to simmer for few moment in and orderly manner to get a medal or do you just want to leave the venue cuz u feel like u should've won so on n so on...

I think the recognition (for orgs, especially) of a team/org having trophies for 2nd or 3rd is far more important than hyping up 1st place or how 2nd place feels. It's far more attractive to sponsors when you have something physical to show them. Also, nearly every other sport does it for a reason.

What's your criteria for an indie game? I would call Baldur's Gate 3 an Indie game. They just took a REALLY long time to polish it which makes the game feel like an AAA.

Gaming gladiators didn't win 3 biggest tournaments, not just two. And Team Spirit won all 3 biggest tournaments of the year, while GG won 3 medium tournaments. It's just stupìd not to pick Team Spirit

My vote for best player in all 5 positions in Dota is probably Boxi, the only position I'm not too sure about him in is middle, but he plays support really well (sometimes 5 when insania pops off on enchantress or chen or something) and he's also a beast offlaner, and his killer mentality would be really good for carry aswell. I just really like that guy

Saying TI is the best tournament by default simply because it's TI is asinine. Especially after the shitshow it's been for years on end in terms of production. This year didn't have the massive issues that have plagued the previous two iterations, but that isn't something to be celebrated, it's to be expected.

Man sometimes Sunsfan is just so uninformed yet has such strong opinions. 50 ish, Shopify played well at three tournaments (4th at Lima, 3rd and DLS19 and 2nd at DLS21), which is a lot better than the vast majority of teams last year (basically all except GG, Liquid, Spirit and maybe Talon). Yes they might have underperformed compared to what they wanted or what was expected, but pretending like they were the worst team last year with 3 top 4 finishes is... insane.

When the best thing about TI is that "the games were on time", that tells you enough. Shopping mall TI had quick games too, that doesnt say much. No prize pool, low stakes, awful format over THREE weeks, tons of downtime killing any storylines. TI games couldnt even hold a candle to the games at Riyadh. Since Riyadh 2024 is going to 45 mn, hopefully TI and Riyadh will be merged into one tournament.

I think this focus on gross prize pool is really unhealthy for the scene, and forcing the fans to re-think it is the silver lining of TI's prize pool being vastly reduced.

TI's games were bad. Games in Riyadh were best in a long time. And low prize pool probably was a big reason for games being so bad at TI. It was a clean event, but who cares about that if the tournament itself is bad.

No chance TI is the best Tournament of the year... The prize pool is a big deal. Even if you dont think about it its somewhere in the back of your mind that you know its not that prestigous. Secondly those 5day breaks completely ruined the vibe for me. I could not get into the TI mindset ever. Like you get hyped for a day and then wait for a week. Stupid. And worst of that is they dont even call it TI. What the hell is "ROAD TO TI" even mean? You are in the playoffs and its not TI. LOL. And last but not least is the new group format. Total garbage. 2days and some teams are eliminated? Only 8games per team? Then 1 random series to decide bracket? Too bad you had 8-0 in group... Now you lose BO3 and you are lower bracket anyway xD. For me it was one of the worst TIs in history. Only good think was the smooth run with no delays and great games.
