Yay: three cheers for Atmos! They ARE discussed a lot, but not so much in the usual watch channels on the youtube. Atmos people are usually of a certain age and prefer to be among themselves and don´t have any need to advertise the fact that they have one or more at home. Another thing: I would probably never buy a new one. Many auctions offer barely or not working ones for not much money and I would go for it, particularly if it is a properly old one: mine is from 1964 with full box set and full papers and when I bought it, it barely moved. I sent it to the JLC service (which was NOT cheap!) and now have a beautifully working clock that keeps incredibly accurate time. And yes, I DO STARE AT IT FOR HOURS AND HOURS, for no reason whatsoever😇

Vacheron have sooooooo much more to offer than the OS. Their historiques, the 222 and the cornes de vache (in plat this is my absolute grail watch without a doubt) especially, are much more interesting than the OS. The OS is really good, but the rest of their line up just has a style that no other brand has

Yes. No one ever talks about Grand Seiko, Longines, VC, IWC, TAG, Tudor, or Rolex watches. It honestly feels like all of these watch channels are just paid sponsors all talking about the same 10 watch brands in every video always.

Oooh, Britt, love that you mentioned the Atmos! Just a few months ago, I found one on eBay under 1K USD. It is awesome, and so much less than a JLC watch... The Atmos is an engineering marvel. JLC has mastered the reduction of friction in order to produce a timepiece that effectively runs on changes in ambient air pressure. The problem that owners discover, however, is that they require perfect balance and rigorous maintenance to properly function, so they often become intricate looking mantle pieces that do nothing more than collect dust.

I've always loved the new Longines flagship moonphases! Definitely a great budget alternative to the JLC Ultrathin Moonpase (my favorite JLC line)...I just wish the Longines were a tad less thick. The new Glassbox Carrera is very popular, not underrated at all. The IWC Portofino is an excellent choice since most people go Portugueser over Portofinio. And that GS SBGW231 is pure class, you should review the SBGW287 in that deep burgundy red! I have it and I love it. The 231 and the 283 do get decent amount of praise when people talk about the SBGW line since the 231 is the classic cream dial and the 283 is light blue. For Omega, the railmaster and the globemaster are getting more attention since plenty of people have been doing videos about how underrated they are, but the PO is pretty rated too and fights with the SMP for most popular diver; also the Omega DeVille line is definitely underrated. As for Rolex Explorer 2, only that black dial is underrated (really just underhyped but I am sure they still sell like hotcakes) just because the white dial is all the hype.

Longines are only underrated in North America. They sold 1.6 million watches last year and are massive in China. They are the 3rd highest luxury selling watch brand after Omega and Cartier in that country. As for Grand Seiko, their more textured dials can be stunning, but I'm not sure if they are 'everyday' watches necessarily. Depends on the model. I actually prefer some of their plainer watches, such as SBGA375, which could be compared to the Oyster Perpetual or latest Aqua Terra models.
