I've been using this plugin since it launched - up until now I'd been triggering my pre-snares in the MIDI and using a timeshift utility to get them to hit just right.. this plugin is workflow gold...

id always done them as audio (like i showed in the vid) either way this is the most hassle reducing tool in a good while.

It definitely adds something, although whether or not you actually like it is just a matter of personal taste. I downloaded the demo and tried it out but on my more retro choppage style it seemed to lose authenticity so I won't be buying it. I can see it being used to good effect in lots of genres though, and I think the more aggressive they are the better it will suit. I did actually used to do exactly this - by hand - on techno back in the 90s. It was common on the first kick of a drop. Productions were so much simpler back then though. Audiences these days are far better educated in what makes a good track. Good video though, I'll sub based on that. And top marks to Cableguys for coming up with a genuinely original plugin.

I really love your channel BTW! And I really appreciate the lessons you teach. When it comes to this particular technique its each to his own ❤

@@djgraish it wasnt so much about "hey this sounds better" but a what is this and when and where to use it. Seems i did not convey that well enough.

honestly, just use a sampler. load in the hit (eg snare) and the reverse/short thwack sample and sequence with midi with the short sample ahead of the hit. then you can do fun things like control aspects of each sound with velocity or midi cc for further variety; eg longer decay time/reverb send etc. with increased velocity.

That’s “do each one individually” 😂 and while 100% doable, getting all the timing unless you’re on the grid all the time I suppose. Is hassle. Hence my excitement to not have to do that anymore.

@@Unders its just another hit in the beat - not sure why its such a large task unless you're using the technique for a majority of your tracks or have really complex breaks that don't loop/repeat. Even then, theres lots of options to bake it in or group it with the original break or hit it corresponds to.

@@NBC9music been messing today with automating the transient level into a drop. And it lets the drums feel more punchy when everything is busy with no extra channel, no extra midi. Its a win plugin.
