My suggestion, start with japanesepod101's hiragana and katakana video on youtube, then move on to wanikani once you're done learning that.

To learn orthodox calligraphy, you should learn from China. The writing style of Japan is completely different

It's not Japanese calligraphy, but Chinese calligraphy! It's not 刚豪，it is 狼毫，not wolf but weasel.
