My cat stopped eating and drinking. Took him to the vet and was given an IV drip and some medicine to give him, but I stopped the treatments when I realized he wasn't getting any better because I didn't want his last thoughts of me to be getting poked and prodded when he didn't feel good. The day he died I was walking out the door going to work and he used all the strength he had left to chase after me meowing as if begging me not to go. I called out of work picked him up and held him in my lap all day. The last thing he did was reach up and touch my face to tell me goodbye. When he died, a piece of me went with him. I still feel that hole where that piece of me used to be. I miss him more than anything.

We had this one cat that did something similar, at his final month he was very affectionate, kept sleeping beside us and sitting on our laps and he didn’t really eat that much. One day he went missing for about 2 weeks, while my family was feeling hopeless I went out to try searching for him at night one last time and saw this one orange cat near an abandoned construction site nearby our house, the cat meowed at me as if the cat wants me to follow it as I thought, I decided to follow it as it was walking towards some old furniture that was tipped over, the orange cat then just ran away so I pulled out a flashlight and decided to look around the old furniture. Once I tipped it over, I saw our cat lying down on the floor and he wasn’t breathing anymore, his body was cold, I called my family over to his location, we felt very sad losing a pet we had for 11 years, I cried in my room afterwards. My dad buried our cat after that day, I’m still thankful for that orange cat that led me to our cat but still sad that we didn’t find him alive

I petted my cat the last time the night before his passing and he purred so loudly for a whole hour. I was so sad but I knew he was dying and was in pain. And thankfully his suffering ended the next morning as he laid lifeless out on the porch. I believe the last thing he saw and heard was the sun rising and the birds chirping. He felt warm and heard sounds that reminded him of his youth. He passed peacefully.

In my cat's final days he was incredibly affectionate, he'd crawl up on my lap and hold onto me with his paws. In his final moments we were in the vet's waiting room, he was incredibly cold so I had him wrapped in a towel held close to my body, he looked up at me one last time, coughed violently for a few moments, and that was it, he was gone. The vets took him immediately and attempted to revive him but it was too late, he'd passed away in that moment and I'll never forget it. In the moments afterward, I was allowed a few moments with him until they offered to cremate his body. He never tried to hide but we both knew his time was coming.

My first ever best boy was this short but very brave little orange warrior. Literally, I mean for a small cat like him, he had a huge territory over our neighbourhood. Had all the girls and constantly having to fight other male cats. Now before you tell me I shouldn't have let him go out and fight, I did. Tried making him an indoor cat but it got him depressed, so I just let him be. Always felt like a mother to him even though I'm a guy, always treating his scratch wounds from fights, his ears definitely were the most recognisable part of him that showed he's a fighter. But yeah, no matter how brave of a warrior he was, old age did its toll, he started losing fights and it made him stay indoors for awhile. I felt like he was sad he can't be as strong as he was before, whenever he tried going out to patrol his now small territory, he's always getting bullied by younger male cats. Eventually he because a pure indoors old veteran, though that won't last that long since he went missing after two weeks. We searched for him for two days and eventually finding him in a thrown away couch near a stream, he was just laying there, unable to move and breathing slowly. Took him home immediately and we treated him the best we can but we cannot do anything as he passed away on his favourite bed 4 hours after bringing him home. I'm always so proud and amazed by how he was such a short ginger, yet he reigned for 11 years. Also kid me for some reason named him Dess.

There was one day we couldn’t find my cat, we were looking everywhere for him, after a couple hours we found him hiding way up in one of our closets, we took him down and he had a huge cut all the way down his stomach area and his innards were falling out, he must have cut himself while jumping on something outside, but we rushed him to the vet while I was crying with him on my lap and all his stuff hanging out and they actually were able to save him and I still have him to this day, I love this cat so much, I’ve had him for 11 years and I’m so glad we were able to save his life

my poor baby got really sick all of a sudden. we thought itd pass, but we kept having trohble finding her. shed find the weirdest places to sleep. lying in closets in the dark. took her to the vet after noticing strange discharge on her and got her spayed because her uterus had gotten infected. didnt hit me till after she made it that she was picking places as far away as she could to die in and im genuinely crying just writing this and remembering how close she was to death. worse moment of my life, genuinely. thankfully shes better now. its been months since that happened and i still feel so much regret and guilt over it. that wanst the only complication that happened after the spaying either. my poor baby, they werent worried about her survival at all, she had a very high chance, but there was so much i did wrong during those days that i still regret even if everyone says i shouldn't dwell. i truly dont know how im going to live without her

Be careful with those red plants people buy during Christmas. They’re toxic to cats. Just tell other pet owners if you know about common toxic food/ plants. Had to witness my friends cat nearly die because her neighbor had some and she walked out for a bit to their patio. She’s healthy now. 🙌

We brought our cat to the vet for the final needle. She was very sick, lost her eyesight and a lot of weight. She became to weak to eat or drink. This would have been a very painfull death so the vet put her down. It was very painfull for us, we lost a family member that day.

My cat stopped eating and drinking after dental work. I gave him food with a syringe for 3 months to keep him alive and was hoping he would make it. One night when I was sleeping, he came in my room screaming!!! I was shocked cause he hadn’t meowed in months. I picked him up and balled up in my arms and passed. That night I drove to the mountain and buried him and it was a spiritual moment. Later I realized that he was an angel protecting me and he’s passing was a new chapter in my life. Cats are special creatures.

I remember my cat 🐈 loved being brushed. The day he wouldn't let me brush his stomach, I knew something was very wrong. Took him to the vets, and his kidneys were failing. Nothing could be done. He held onto the pain quietly so we wouldn't worry 😢

When I was a kid we had a tabbie named Queenie, one day, when she was around 22-23 years old, she just went off into the woods and never came back. I think for a cat, thats the most peacful way to go, and the best way for us humans to emotionally deal with it. In my head, she just went off on an adventure to the woods forever, yk? And for her, she lay down in some quiet glade and passed on.

My cat died from leukemia in 2019 and he was never a particulary clingy one. In his last few weeks on this earth he became insanely clingy though to the point where he waited in front of the front door meowing FOR HOURS when I was out to go to class. He demanded to sleep on the bed with me which he also never did before, I couldn't close the door when I was bathing because he'd lose it- he was scared to be alone. I'm just so glad he got ALL the snuggles sleeping in bed with me, all the treats he wanted when he was down to eat..he was always right there with me and got all the attention and I had him in my Arms when he took his last breath. He did not want to be alone. And he's duly missed to this day ❤ Every cat is different, you just need to look for certain shifts in their behavior.

When my cat was dying she hide in the house for an entire day, we were so confused we thought she somehow might’ve gotten outside so I slept in the couch to wait for her to come to the door, only to wake up to her laying next to me, she was having difficulty breathing and when we learned that the best way for her to lice would be to be stuck in a box constantly pumped with oxygen, we knew she would never like to live like that, I stayed with her until her ear got cold. Miss you Rose.

My last dog did that hiding thing. I wasn’t very close to her cuz I was a child when she died, but apparently a few months before she died, she started having hearth attacks, the weirdest part is that when she woke up from those attacks she would temporarily forget who we were. One day she sneaked through the front door and went missing, we found her dead a few days later behind the garage at my cousin’s house.

I’ve been experiencing similar actions. My cat has been avoiding my bowls of water unless it’s from the faucet. She’s way more cuddly. And is always asking for a attention or a buddy to be around. She still eats wet food but avoids dry food. I’m taking her to the vet this week

some sort of bladder problem, he was spayed and it happens in boys because it isnt natural to them. build up of stones caused him to not be able to go the bathroom... we had to put him down because the toxins were going to make it a slow death :(

3 of my cats died in my arms . When i noticed em are dying, i gave em more loved to em remember forever. Its all kept in memories. The last thing my cats do before they go, they use their last energy to raise their arm and touched my cheek with their soft paw🐾 ! While one of my cats also crying in my arms too.. im really2 sad to watch they dying .😭😭 But at least im relieved a bit, to have our last moment together in my arms, staring each other before they go.
