I suffered with vertigo for 3 years. My ear specialist sent me for every test know to mankind. All results came back normal. My vertigo continued. It was so debilitating. My specialist couldn’t help me, nor my GP. So I did my own investigating. I started to connect the dots. It was my neck that was causing my dizziness/vertigo. I had poor neck posture for years. As such my neck was in rough shape. With self rehabilitation and lots of physiotherapy I am in a better place now. My vertigo is minimal now. I owe Dr Mandel (Chiropractor-KZbin) most of the credit. He saved my life:)

@@Judeslovinlife Sorry to hear you’re having issues with your neck. Through trial and error I found the right stretching and massaging exercises that worked for me. It takes time. I stumbled onto a Dr Mandel’s you tube video for neck/posture issues and how it relates to vertigo. It may not be for everybody but it was his help that made all the difference for me. With out his support I wouldn’t be were I am today. I hope this helps and you’re able to find some relief and healing.

Thank you for this video. I've recently had two bad bouts of severe dizziness with vomiting. The first on in October happened when I woke us and opened my eyes. It not only made me vomit, I had to sit on the toilet to empty my bowels. The second one in November happened when I collecting garbage in the house. I wanted to use the toilet too. I turned around to sit and my world was spinning. The same routine happened, and after the worse was over my husband took me to the ER. Besides the usual ECG and x-ray they gave me an IV and some medication through the IV and a pill. They discharged me after the IV was empty and I went home with Meclizine (Dramamine) and a drug to stop the nausea. A neurologist gave me Zofram (a quick release pill) for vomiting. I have also bought some essential oil for Vertigo. I knew there was some positions I could use to move the rocks in my ear, but it's impossible for me to get on my knees (painful) and extend my neck and turn it and hold it for a while, especially being dizzy and have to vomit. I look forward to watching the next episode. I hope this doctor works on Long Island or can tell me where to find someone who can help in my area of Nassau County. I also want to mention I am mostly deaf in my right ear and I have a small amount of hearing loss in the left ear. Being 70 is so far not fun at all.

When I ended up w severe dizziness, I had it for 6 yrs off & on. Dr's couldn't figure it out. Then I saw an online article from Dr. Mercola on aspartame. I'd been eating/drinking sugar free foods for yrs. So I stopped all SF & the vertigo disappeared. Now just 2 yrs ago I decided to bake up some keto sweet treats w erythritol. (I used Swerve). Within a few days the vertigo came upon me once again. And I know every ones body reacts differently. ❤ 😍

I can not wait for the next video! Bob, thank you so much for this specialist, Shari, educating us about Vestibular Therapy. I developed Tinnitus after a car accident in 2002. I had Graves' Disease at the same time and presented with severe TED, Thyroid Eye Disease. Lots of damage was done, scar tissue, to the muscles of my eyes. In 2015, out of the blue, I thought I had the flu but was ultimately diagnosed with Vertigo, BPPV. The medication doesn't help much anymore. Unilateral Hypofunction sounds like what happens to me. I have wanted to be tested for Labrynthitis. I suffer so much from this disease, it reduces the quality of my life so much. Now I know what kind of specialist I need to see. I few years ago I began to have sudden and violent vertigo. After some investigation, I identified the cause. I have a bad habit of reading in bed and often end up in odd contortions of my head. This was a precursor to the bouts. I was causing BPPV - Benign Proxysmal Positional Vertigo. The Epley Maneuver corrects it every time.

It lasted quite a while. Luckily no one ever noticed me not feeling well and I didn't have to answer the many phones and I'd have to answer by the ring. I guess I've had this vertigo problem a long time but it's worse now. I need one of those med beds to cure my ills!

Fortunately I managed to regain 90% of my limbs actions and more important, independent rather than relying on external help when walking and doing simple activity like taking shower and eating. I used to play golf but have since stopped or climb chairs and ladders and looking underneath table and cabinets or vehicles to avoid dizziness.

Hopefully, she will address Meniere's syndrome in the next installment. I had SEVERE cases of vertigo and every test in the book before finally getting a diagnosis (also lost hearing in one ear because of it). BPPV treatment does no good with Meniere's. Seeing a physical therapist specializing in balance issues did me more good than anything. Proprioception exercises have pretty much enabled me to fully control the problem. Low-dose Diazepam also helps if taken when first symptoms show. I can now recognize onset and take a pill, which usually staves the problem off.

I discovered my vertigo was actually caused by a very stiff lower back. I'd raise myself up from lying on my back in bed and, jerking myself off the pillow, away the vertigo would go. Since watching your video on the proper way to get out of bed, this has helped considerably. Now, I treat my stiff back with yoga stretches... later, when I've been up and about a bit. Note, I do have some issues in the neck as well. So, this vertigo was caused by a combination of stiff back and stiff neck. Rigidity has eased tremendously since keeping a regular routine of stretches - and no vertigo! I continue to learn more about my body and what it's telling me by watching your channel. Thank you, guys, for all your help.

Anxious to see that next video! My husband (74) and I (71) both have problems with dizziness. I do recognize some problems with the eyes as being part of my problem - I sang at a funeral in the small church back home where I grew up, and then started to step down from the platform which was only a few inches high and literally could not see the difference in the platform and the regular floor so fell right in front of the packed church! Talk about embarrassing! You sing a solo and immediately fall in the floor! But no joke - I could not see where to step down. It was as if at that time my eyes crossed. A very weird sensation, indeed! Since that occurrence, every time I’ve been back and sing, the pastor helps me down because I actually broke a bone in my foot when I fell. Anyway, I REALLY appreciate this! And sorry if my story is too long! My hubby tells everyone I have no brakes on my jaw muscles! 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

BPPV is not curable. Each person has to find how to keep crystals in place. A vertigo attack threw me over 3 feet into my granite sink and broke my shoulder. It was not a balance problem as my head goes blank in an attack. At 85 it was very traumatic but healed perfectly. Never know when it may come back but it will. I have gone through therapy for years. Nothing gets rid of it. Mine is seconds not long term. This is very often caused by hitting head, concussion or contusion sometime in your life. More shows like this to make people understand not to ignore symptoms. If you fall and hit your head it can be fatal. Thanks for bringing this to people's attention.

One thing I just learned is ... if you are drinking lots of plain water, you can be flushing out all your electrolytes with plain water. To be correctly hydrated, you need electrolytes. Lots of plain water can flush out vitamins and minerals from food too. Maybe this was what the ER Doctor meant when he told you that you were dehydrated .... meaning lack of electrolytes and such .... not lack of plain water.

I read somewhere that vomiting occurs when the brain does a full system check, finds nothing wrong and decides the body has ingested a poison…hence, chunks are hurled.

Sometimes I get dizzy for hours after a rollercoaster or something like that. Sometimes it is related to pain. I have to lay down, vomit. That's for days. Maybe it is related to my nervous system, because I have MS.

I am very sensitive to LED lights. Dizzy, woozy, disoriented. Took quite a while to isolate the source. ENT doctor told me that I had an intermittent virus, and needed to challenge my balance gradually. LOL. I wish he'd just said, " I have no idea." I try to avoid LED lights, but it is difficult. Some are worse than others.

I wish the spinning, vomiting and feeling like I’m going to die only lasted a few mins. I’ve had these issues for 27 years, I’m dizzy every single day of my life and when I get the spinning it lasts for months. I can’t get anyone to listen to me to get any help . It’s so severe at times it’s caused me anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. 😢

Please keep a food diary and see if you can pinpoint if something you are eating is causing it. Start first with eliminating artificial sweeteners (mentioned in the comments section) and gluten. (FYI: Strong link between gluten, depression and anxiety.) You will feel better eliminating these things from your diet and hopefully you can find the culprit that may be causing your dizziness. Wishing you all the best.

Stop consuming ALL man made sweeteners immediately. Drink only filtered water without any adaptive s or flavors. Take innovatory of the medications and if you are taking meds to treat dizziness it can cause nausea. Drugs to treat nausea can cause dizziness. There’s no way your body will correct itself you are constantly try to treat each with a medical. I work in healthcare and I ask every patient if they are vaping. The chemicals in vaping will cause dizziness, fogginess, spinning, vomiting. Have you ever been adjusted by a chiropractor? If not look for someone who specializes in vestibule rehab and vertigo. Just a few thoughts. I had vertigo a few years ago so awful I lost a job because I could not get out of bed due to spinning vertigo. I had to stop all anti nausea meds get adjusted 2-3 times a week. Watch the next video in this series! Good luck I wish you luck.

My daily diet has been limited beyond measure. I had gallbladder surgery 7 years ago there is very little I am able to eat. I’ve done process of elimination(S) and I truly believe my vertigo is affected by weather and altitude. I absolutely cannot fly and if we have a heavy storm front or overcast it seems the severity of my vertigo is super heightened. I’m just so sick of being sick. When I get severe symptoms and end up on the floor it’s like I’m in a conscious pass out. I hear everything but I get spinning if I attempt to respond and I lose all motor skill, control of the bowel, control of the bladder and projectile vomit repeatedly for 2-5 hours at a time. It’s a tough way to exist and it’s even tougher when help is not attainable.

When I get vertigo, I feel like my eyes cross, and I “ list” to ( usually) to the right . When it’s really bad I get very nauseous and the world goes to spinning and it seems to take forever for it to calm down. I can not move, just hold on to whatever I’m holding on to. If I close my eyes , I still can’t move ,I just have to be still till it stops. I take antivert for a while

It MAY be able to be a eliminated by seeing a chiropractor. If so then it may take a couple sessions to get better. Or one ould try the physical therapy route of the Home Eply Manuever. It seems it's hit and miss for some people but it takes more than one or two times usually to be effective. If that doesn't help and it's more systemic one could consult someone who is certified in Nutrition Response Testing, they can target the problem nearly the best and find a nutritional solution if it's tested for.

Look up the Epley Maneuver. It is a series of specific head movements to put the inner ear crystals in a position they won't cause the vertigo. It isn't difficult and you could easily help her through it. If BPPV is her problem, this may help. She may need to do it more than once or periodically. It has helped me greatly.

I definitely have the first type. My vertigo is the worst when I'm just sitting doing nothing. It will suddenly hit me. I usually crawl to the bathroom, so I don't fall down or puke. Thankfully I haven't had a bad episode like that for a few months. They have been more mild. I also go deaf in my right ear when it acts up. I have meclizine on my desk and with me at all times.

@@WWarthog798 I could probably get that diagnosis, but every ENT I've seen has been worthless. They insist on doing CT scans and I don't want one, so they don't want to see me. This issue started after I got an ear infection in Jul 2019. Things never got better after that.

@@WWarthog798 I've had too many of them and don't want more radiation. CT scans are given out like candy and they are not an insignificant amount. I had an ER doctor tell me not to get another CT scan unless it was an emergency situation. I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. I also don't want one to my head/face because brain cancer runs in my family. I said I'd do an MRI, but the ENT office refused. Never went back.

I have been taking Meclazine every day for months now. Without it, the dizziness and nausea was too much to function with. I do have one ear take a break sometimes. It suddenly stops hearing for a few seconds. And something inside the ear twitches. But it's movement that gets me the most. As if I've had something to drink even though I haven't. I'm mostly okay with the Meclazine. But I'm very curious to know what's wrong. A friend of mine has severe Menier's. I really hope it's not that. My ears do ring constantly. They have for most of my life. PS, I've always been very prone to motion sickness. I don't know if that makes me more prone to this or not. I will watch the follow up video.
