This is so helpful. Thank you! I studied hebrew in Parochial school in Canada many years ago, and am working on an accent for a play. You've really helped a ton. I love the way you present. It's clear and FUN.

Your videos are excellent! I'm learning so much. Just two minor points, conjugation is the term for verb inflections, declensions for everything else that inflects. Also when you say Israeli in Hebrew, the stress is in the wrong place.

Thank you Elisheva 😊 מכל מלמדי השכלתי 🙏 I must say though, that talking about changing the form of prepositions in English is kind of tricky, because English doesn't have that. So I feel like none of the verbs really work (conjugating or inflecting, and for sure- declining doesn't work...). Actually, I am also undecided about the word "Israeli". I think that because my whole philosophy is about making Israeli Hebrew accessible to speakers of other languages, it actually makes sense to say THIS WORD specifically, the Israeli way. :) This is how Israelis pronounce it. (Like I do in my videos). I am an Israeli, not an American, and while it's extremely important to me to pronounce everything correctly, with this word there's a good reason to say it like an Israeli :) It even feels a bit weird to me to pronounce: "Israeli Hebrew" or "Israeli" or "Israelis" the correct English way. It feels less authentic. Less Israeli ;-) But I'll think about it :)

You are a good actress. The video was funny and that's why it sticks. Sometimes Hebrew teaching videos are so boring that you can hardly listen, but that didn't happen to me with yours.

Sooo great! Thank you so, so much for this video. I would love to see more like them. I just found your channel and have subscribed. I hope to watch many more of your videos and especially the ones like this. I’ve put a lot of time into learning - or at least into studyIng Hebrew. But I want to be understood and to understand when with Israelis. That has been the whole point of my studying Hebrew - so I really want to learn is Israeli, 😊💕

Please do more videos. I have been learning for 5 years and mostly struggle to understand others conversing. One on one conversations slow down to my level, but as you say, I'm expecting proper Hebrew, not "Israeli". Your videos are exactly what I need!

hi teacher when is it general and when is it specific? בַּ בְּ Toda!
@UlpaNoyaNoyaEinhorn
@UlpaNoyaNoyaEinhorn Жыл бұрын
The first one (with the line under it) is the specific one. Pronounced: BA. Notice that it has the vowel sound of ה=HA (the). It's like the ה/HA is hiding inside of the ב. Therefore it means in THE. (=specific). The sound of the other one is: BEH. (Doesn't sound like "the". Therefore not specific/defininte)

Hello, there is a suffix ly in Hebrew? thank you!
@UlpaNoyaNoyaEinhorn
@UlpaNoyaNoyaEinhorn 8 ай бұрын
Hi :) Instead of the suffix "ly"- to create adverbs, Hebrew uses the word באופן (beofen), which means- in a manner / way, and then, adds a masculine adjective. For example, "automatically" is: באופן אוטומטי. "Naturally" is: באופן טבעי. Alternatively, there's בצורה (betsura) to which you add a feminine adjective. It's almost a synonym of באופן, and it's a bit less "formal". בצורה אוטומטית, בצורה טבעית- automatically, naturally.
