Thank you for highlighting this area. There are few doctors that really understand the impact of EPI (or PEI). Dr. Freedman is another good one to check for those suffering. He has an in depth article on Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency written with Dr. Struyvenberg that anyone with EPI should read. Another really helpful resource was the book Primal Pancreas.

Enzymes help digest bust they dont attack the cause. Pancreatic insufficiency could be due to malnutrition of certain aminoacids like taurine, carnosine, gaba, lack of melatonin production. Also, they do not mention that fungal or bacterial biofilms can enclose the pancreas impeding its proper function. Conventional of course medicine do not offer proper solutions yet for biofilm disruption unless its chemotherapy.
@SativaSteven
@SativaSteven 4 жыл бұрын
Definitely! Leaky gut can be a cause of the malnutrition of those amino acids too. This can lead to autoimmune issues. Conventional medicine says 20% of pancreatitis cases are idiopathic. I believe from research its leaky gut syndrome and also the bacterial/fungal biofilm you mentioned could be the main culprits. A high protein diet with extra supplementation of Gaba, 5htp(serotonin to melatonin conversion), glutamine, bone broth powder(for glycine and proline especially) to boost collagen, omega 3s, and 5mg creatine too. Along with cutting out inflammatory foods, these steps will help to heal the gut lining to prevent malabsorbtion.

Man I did a stool test which showed fungal, parasitic and bacterial problem and my pancrease elastase. We're also low. Even when I eat simple food. So I was thinking may be the infection might be causing the pancreas dysfunction. I am going to eradicate infections. Will it help to restore the function of my pancreas

Good question! I have Celiac Disease (tested positive) and I think I NOW may have some problems with my pancreas because of the location of the extreme pain attack I had and the FEELING of wanting to vomit. I am 61 years old and have recently had added some high fat content food to my diet, extra avocadoes and parmesan cheese crisps. My first and recent upper stomach attack was brought on by having lots of fresh squeezed lemon juice in a glass of water as BEFORE my first meal of the day. The pain came on quickly within 10 minutes and was there until hours later when it finally dissipated. So, I've been trying to find out too if you can have Pancreatitis as a result of having an autoimmune disease, such as Celiac Disease?

@@jackschitt6235possibly, but I think it’s actually the opposite - that people stopped eating protein and fat and lost the ability to digest them, and are slowly trying to build it back.

I don't have any of the know causes above but I did shudder from a campylobacter infection 6 years ago and h pylori 3 years ago. Both treated with antibiotics, PPI usage also. Since I got diagnosed I've had scans and blood tests. Only low in vitamin D and that's not abnormal for Irish folk and scans show zero signs of damage/scarring. I think I may have sibo or affected by bacterial biofilm but my GI diagnosed me and seems to have forgotten about me. Been trying for weeks to see if I have bad bacteria overgrowth but it's like I'm being ignored and want more tests. Still got sterrorhea and almost on month 5 of PERTs with multiple dose increases with no Change.

How are you doing? Im going trough the same thing, im only 19 and been having steatorrhea for 6 months now, i already got tested with the ca 19-9 and it was normal, im super scared, but like you my symptoms arent really that bad, i barely have any pain, i dont know what to hink anymore, im just scared all day, i will have an elastasa test on monday, i never had pancreatitis or anything like that, in december when started i had my lymph node inflame in my left armpit with diarrhea, the lymph node it did goes away like in 2 weeks, but the steatorrhea and loose stool didn't

@@TheProlan hi. I never had pancreatitis pains. Just my digestive process got worse and worse to where I am now. The elastase test will tell you exactly what is going on. It won't tell you the cause if it is low, just that the pancreas is not making enough. I recently had a detailed scan (EUS) which showed minor scarring on pancreas. I take my enzymes each day and get on with it. I still battle with formed but greasiness on the enzymes. Still have investigations on the go and a possible birth defect (divisum) in my pancreas. Many things can cause this issue but try not get too stressed. Wait for results. There are things that can help and there are much much worse things out there to have to deal with and that has helped me a lot with coping. Can still live my life, can do normal things so chin up and best of luck getting answers 🤞🙂

It worries me too, just not know why. I have low enzymes, CT scan of pancreas showed no problem. I just can't deal with not knowing why. I take Creon before meals. It really helps. No pain here either. I want to make it better but don't know why to do. Doctor is no help. Saying because I am 65 is the reason. Really? My mom is 94 and has no issues like this. I eat healthy and have always been interested in good nutrition. @@richiep3520

You will feel better taking Creon, a prescribed digestive enzyme. We will all die some time but a good quality of life in the meantime is important. I work still with EPI, not always easy but it is doable. I am 65. I plan ahead. Eat the best I can. Always take my Creon before meals. I also take fiber every morning in water. Benefiber. Doctor's suggestion. I think it really helps. I feel more in control of how it feels for a bowel movement if that makes sense. Wishing blessings for all. @@dontneednomanstoptelllingm8481

Now I have been "diagnosed" before with crohns disease that turned out to be a bacteria infection so as it stands that's what my doctor thinks it is, epi. I don't have any severe symptoms or pains but I think I will be getting ct/MRI and more blood tests to figure out pancreas issue. I am fond of alcohol and fatty food. Its a very bad combo..
