Episode 1-2 Notes: The Introduction & Minor Signs of Judgment Day Judgment Day has many signs that will proceed it and the Prophet SAW would give classes to the Sahabah RA about this. Allah SWT states in the Qur’an that, Judgment Day is close and its signs have already begun. The signs of Qiyamah can be categorised in various ways such as, by separating them into one-time events or into trends that will occur. Another popular method for separating them, is to split them into major and minor signs which, is what the Prophet SAW himself did in Hadith. The 10 Major Signs of Qiyamah The Prophet SAW stated in Hadith that, there will be 10 major signs right before Qiyamah. Anytime one of these major signs arrive, the next one will come immediately after it, like a domino. The 10 Major signs are as follow, although they will not come in this order: 1. The Dukhan (The Smoke) 2. The Coming of Dajjal (The False Messiah) 3. The Coming of Dabbat Al Ard (The Beast of the Earth) 4. The Rising of the Sun from the West 5. The Coming of Isa Ibn Maryam AS 6. The Coming of Yajuj & Majuj 7. A Major Earthquake that will Shake the Earth 8. A Major Earthquake that will Shake the Earth 9. A Major Earthquake that will Shake the Earth Signs 7-9 are all consecutive and each earthquake is bigger than the previous 10. A Blazing Fire that will originate in Yemen and force the remnants of humanity to the land of resurrection. Sign 10 is the very last sign that leads straight to Qiyamah Minor Signs that are one-time events The first of the minor signs of Qiyamah, is the Birth, Dawah and Demise of the Prophet SAW. The Prophet SAW in at least a dozen authentic Hadith mentioned the following minor signs: • The Sahabah RA would fight one another and that once the sword is lifted it won’t be put back until Qiyamah. This means the Muslims would have infighting right until Qiyamah. • Abu Bakr RA would die a normal death but, Umar RA and Uthman RA would die as Shaheeds. • Prophecies hinting at and relating to the Battle of the Camel and the Battle of Siffin. • Prophecies of Ali RA fighting the Kharijites. • Prophecies of the Muslim lands being very safe and secure soon. • Prophesising the rise of the Turkish race and their dominance over the Arabs. There are many Hadith about this and its interesting considering the Turks were viewed as a backward race, at the time. • The Prophet SAW prophesised that the Muslims would conquer Constantinople. • Prophecies of the Arab bedouins competing in building tall buildings. Minor Signs that are trends This list from authentic Hadith isn’t exhaustive: • The Muslim Ummah would have an excess of wealth and this is how Allah SWT would test them. • There would be a lack of trust amongst people. • The rise of corrupt and evil leaders. • Plenty of bloodshed amongst the Muslim Ummah. • Killing and bloodshed would occur, to the extent the people won’t know why they are killing or being killed. • Extramarital sexual intercourse would become the norm. • Zina and nudity would become apparent everywhere. • Sexual intercourse would occur in public. • There would be a lot of women who wear clothes but, are really naked. • Women will love to entice and people will love to be enticed. • Modesty will be the last thing mankind will lose before Qiyamah. • Drugs, alcohol and music will be very prominent. • Muslims will build magnificent Masjid that will be empty. • People will boast about the beauty of Masjids but, they won’t visit them. • A slave girl will give birth to her master. Ibn Hajar RH interpreted this to mean that children will be disrespectful to their parents. • There will be an increase in shopping centres and markets. • Obesity will spread amongst the people on earth. • There will be an increase in natural calamities, especially earthquakes. • Qiyamah will only happen when Ar-Rum (i.e the modern west) are the dominant civilization of the earth. • Writing (literacy) would become prevalent. • (Moral) Ignorance will prevail. • Qiyamah will not come until 12 Khalifahs from the Quraysh, lead the Ummah. • The Final Minor Sign: The Coming of Imam Mahdi RH (We should never explicitly say a minor sign has come because something even more explicit could come in the future). Fun Trivia fact: The Hadith of Jibreel is the only one time that, Jibreel AS came before the Muslims to teach them Islam. Fun Trivia fact: Most of the Sahabah RA of early Islam were not literate because it wasn’t common in Arab culture to write. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW stated that one of the signs of Qiyamah is that, most of humanity will know how to write. Fun Trivia fact: The Ummah as a whole will never be wiped out entirely, by an external enemy or disease. This is because the Prophet SAW did Dua to Allah SWT for this and it was accepted. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW informed us that some of the previous Ummahs had been wiped out by external enemies or diseases. Fun Trivia fact: Muslims believe that inanimate objects do have a type of consciousness. But, it isn’t like that of a human consciousness. Fun Trivia fact: The Turks of Turkey are not native to that country and actually originate from the Turkmenistan region. Also, the Turks and Mongolians share a common ancestor. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW in a Hadith advised the Muslims, to avoid fighting with the Turks because they would lose against them. Fun Trivia fact: The Ottoman Empire were the first non-Arab empire to declare they were the Khalifate. It was the conquest of Constantinople that gave the Ottomans the confidence, to become the Khalifah. Fun Trivia fact: Muawiyah RA tried to conquer Constantinople but it didn’t go well and they retreated. Fun Trivia fact: The Muslims will reconquer Constantinople solely via Zikir during the time of the Mahdi. This means the Muslims will lose Istanbul at some point in the future. Fun Trivia fact: The Arabs would exoticize India and that’s why some of them, named their daughters “Hind”. Fun Trivia fact: The Shariah does not encourage obesity. Fun Trivia fact: A theory as to why the Muslims in Spain never conquered Europe was because there was nothing worth conquering in Europe. The people in Europe were seen as barbarians. Fun Trivia fact: Ibn Taymiyyah RH is of the opinion that, the 12 Khalifahs from the Quraysh who will lead the Ummah, have already come in history. Thus fulfilling the prophecy of the Prophet SAW. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW prophesied that the Muslims would fight a people with squinty eyes. This by some scholars has been interpreted to mean the Mongols. Fun Trivia fact: The Muslims at the time of the Mongols, thought the Mongols were Yajuj and Majuj. Fun Trivia fact: The coming of Isa AS will lead to many Yahud and Nasara accepting Islam. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. @@ibby_who7212 Sure. However the descriptions of the Yajuj and Majuj is of being closed off by a metal wall, with thousands, if not millions of humanoids are digging, or trying to scale the wall. The thermal signature of a single man in a forest can be detected by a low earth satellite, and it is impossible that thousands/millions of humanoids don't have an extremely large thermal signature, which could be detected by even drones. That structure should be large. If nuclear submarines can be spotted, if S-350, S-400, Patriot, ICBM sites, etc. Can be spotted using simply google maps by common folk, then such a structure should have been found years back. And military satellites would have detected such a thing more than 20 years ago. Unless such a thing is under sea(which would mean that Quran gets the description totally wrong) only then such an excuse that *_"there are uncharted places on earth"._* I admire the fact that at least some scholars have pointed out that such a story is either just metaphor or most likely not true. However if you are a believer despite contrary evidence(no satellite photos), then no one can help you.

I don’t like the word: *“predicting”* because it implies that the prophet (peace be upon him) came up with these signs based on guesswork using information that already existed at the time. But we all know that’s not how it happened. It was not a prediction. It was a prophecy. Allah gave him access to that knowledge and there was no guesswork involved.

About the last hadith I found in sahih bukhari that said: a person will go from sana'a to hadharalmout and I couldn't find the version that says lady. But no worries, 1:07:52 i would like to add, when a normal person predicts something is going to happen in the future is a "prediction" however, (in layman's term) when a "prophet" predicts something that's going to happen in the future is "prophecy" *NOT PROPHE"S"Y* ... May god bless Ali ra and muawiyah ra but the sad truth is that muawiyah may god bless him and forgive him but he would make people curse Ali and the rest of the ahlul bayt. I think this is a beautiful lecture and I know he’s not trying to touch on some of the sensitive nature as some may take it in the wrong context but he should explain as if someone may found out later it could lead them to doubt certain things.

Zakwan Sada That’s true, but in this day and age even people put ahadiths in google that ain’t even true. It’s like you have to actually study the ahadith books and the Quran itself. And if you don’t know the Arabic language that can be very hard

@@amaanparvez1333 agreed bro! But googling can be starting point of your verification but definitely not the end. You can find English version of quran and major ahadeeth books from reputed publishers easily. Put some efforts on that. And secondly, don't just listen every xyz speaker no matter how good they sound. Get the background information on them, their aqeedah, their methodology of getting knowledge and their education. Here yasir qadhi have studied in madina for almost a decade (which give him credibility), but there are lot of speakers on the internet who starts giving speeches after reading couple of books. So be cautious of them.
