Thank you for talking about the protein problem for some of us! If I don’t stay high fat while eating protein I get spikes! The sugars, the inflammation, the weight gain all go together for me when I eat a lot of protein even with less than 10 total grams of carbs. I can’t eat more than twice a day too.

Very helpful, but still not common knowledge and certainly not advice given by most doctors. This method will slowly reduce your body fat, while also making you more insulin sensitive (reduce yourA1C). It is a disgrace and a disservice that the health community does not tell us this more often to more people. Thanks Kait!

Weight loss was not my goal, fat loss was. OMAD, 60% fat mostly from nuts and seeds and 20% each from carbs and protein, helped me shed 39 lbs / 18 kgs. That, coupled with fasted weight training and NEAT being my go-to form of movement, no specific cardio was undertaken. Find what works for you. 😃 The 1 gram of protein is an easy go-to metric, but it could lead to gluconeogenesis, which could in turn hamper getting leaner. I tend to gravitate to 0.75 per lb of ideal body weight-again, find what works for you. Thank you for uploading and sharing.

This is the first time I’ve heard about color walking. Sounds interesting. Reminds me of the kids games we employed when our kids were young when going on long trips in the car. Having them watch for specific things kept them occupied and less fractious - calm, in other words - than simply playing at whatever they came up with between themselves. Worth trying. Thanks!

I love your clear and no-nonsense advice. Still, there are things I donot fully understand : my fasten Glucose is 103 mg/dl (ref. Is 79-99) but my fasten insulin is 68.4 pmol/L (ref, 18.0 - 173.0). So, one good and one not so good. If possible, could you do a video on this ? What's the correlation ? Thank you.

Great explanation.. I’ve not been tested but I’ve struggled with any weight loss for years. High BMI, raised blood pressure and cholesterol. I need to loose at least 30 lbs or more to be in healthy weight range. It’s hard to excercise as I have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia and always stiff and in pain. Although I eat a lot of processed foods I seem to be addicted to sugar and this is where I struggle. Where should I start … should I just slowly reduce the carbs or cut as much out as soon as possible ?

It helps for sure! That’s one of the strategies I suggest for being “smart” about carbs. Protein, fat and fiber first slow digestion of carbs = less of a blood sugar spike = less insulin all at once.

Trying to lose weight, nothing seems to work, and they feel miserable. [That part] 😅 Well said, thanks for the tips!🤗 Cravings & hunger are just always a thing and I don't want full blown diabetes. But it has been impossible to get the appetite and cravings under control and truly lose the weight I need to lose and keep it off. Hopefully I can get the balance going and stop the constant cravings for sugar, preferably chocolate for me and the appetite. I'm just not the best at balancing my foods. But these tips are certainly appreciated!! 🎉❤

Hi Kait. Any tips please for kids that are insulin resistant? My 10yr old son has just been diagnosed.
@HealthCoachKait4 күн бұрын
The good news is kids can “bounce back” from it easier than adults! They will respond to changes quicker. I can’t give specific advice but I think the key is to focus on whole food, and limit processed food as much as possible. Focus less on the macros, whole food carbs will be ok, as long as there is enough protein. Of course getting some movement in will help, even if that’s just a daily walk.

Get into ketosis and remain there AND restrict calories a bit to force the body to use stored body fat for energy. Look up autophagy as well. There are many KZbin videos on the subjects. Good luck!

Protein needs is 1g per KG of body weight NOT LBS so if your goal is 140lbs so about 63.5kg so youd need roughly 64g of protein. 140g of protein is drastically too much your body will over load and get sick.
