I want to hear from you: will you still be buying from LMNT? In the first half of the video I talk about what maltodextrin is and why it is used BUT if you want to skip ahead to my thoughts on what LMNT did then head to 16:14 🤝 I do think the first half is important for context though. Maltodextrin is going to be in just about any sugar-free product in trace amounts. FYI I have never worked with LMNT, however, I was a huge fan before they stopped shipping to Australia.

Being someone who is a Type 2 Diabetic, Non-Alcoholic Liver Disease, and Celiac, living the low carb or nearly zero carb lifestyle, I don't stress over tiny amounts, if LMNT and others are the only flavors I am able to have, then so be it. I don't think people should react and get outraged over something that's so tiny. It's not an issue for me, it's one of the few things left that I am allowed to eat/drink anymore.

There is a bigger issue here, which has nothing to do with food companies that are a bit deceptive. The issue is that if a product contains less than a certain amount of some ingredients, the companies don't have to disclose that particular ingredient. So, i honestly blame the "regulatory organizations" that allow certain ingredients that don't require disclosing certain ingredients if they contain less than a certain amount. As you said, LMNT isnt the only company doing this.

Hello, I have seen a lot of content creators get sponsored by LMNT and something stopped me from buying their product and really any flavored product. I just went with unflavored, like you mentioned. Also I wanted to chime in on the ACV comment, I agree it is intolerable the way I drink it is I use my unflavored electrolytes, mis it with 2 tbsp of ACV with water, 12-16 oz and I add liquid Stevie to tolerate it. Hope this helps anyone struggling with ACV. It's not great but it's better. Thanks for your great content!

Please try to understand that LMNT does not package their products. Yes, they created the base formulas for each flavor, but the packager has the responsibility of acquiring the raw materials. Between the actual packer and the FDA, the 'rules' for what is 'in' the package are so loose that the actual product can/will be different and the wording on the package does not need to change between different lots of the product. If you want/need to point the finger at the betrayer, look to the FDA for the problem. I have never bought LMNT, as I have always taken potassium and magnesium in pill form and use REDMAN'S REAL SALT. Due to the cold weather, I'm thinking of taking iodine drops to fight my newly acquired cold fingers.

CORRECT! THEY LIED TO ALL OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. IT'S NOT OK.. FIRST, let get educated about what MALTRODEXTRIN IS: *Maltodextrin is made by breaking down starch from sources like corn, potato, wheat, or rice into smaller pieces through a process called hydrolysis, where the starch is cooked and mixed with enzymes or acids to create a neutral-tasting powder; essentially, it's a highly processed carbohydrate produced by partially breaking down starch molecules into smaller chains of glucose units.* Second, Maltodextrin...IS NOT GOOD FOR OUR GUT! Third, Why Exaxctly would I believe or trust anyone on YT that's promoting LMNT even though they know about this? I WOULDNT..AND YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER! Seriously... this is a morality issue.. My health is not up for debate and it's not their call just becasue THEY WANT TO RAKE IN THE MONEY THEY GET FROM PROMOTING IT TO ME! Why would you or anyone give them a pass on this..just so they can make money? Here we go with the carbs around the workout lol. The notion that carbohydrates are essential for athletic performance, especially around workouts, is deeply ingrained in sports nutrition. Fat provides more than twice the energy (9 calories per gram) compared to carbohydrates (4 calories per gram). This steady energy supply eliminates the roller-coaster effect of blood sugar spikes and crashes, giving you sustained performance during long or intense workouts. Studies on fat-adapted endurance athletes, such as those in the FASTER study, show that they can burn fat at rates nearly twice as high as carb-dependent athletes, even at high intensities. This efficiency translates to more consistent energy and endurance without needing pre- or intra-workout carbs.
@HealthCoachKait9 күн бұрын
Endurance athletes are one case, but high intensity athletes are another. My podcast episode on changing my diet talks about the differences I noticed to my athletic performance as an elite hockey player eating more carbs.

No need for electrolytes. Just use sodium salt and potassium salt. As for magnesium, just use magnesium tablets. Electrolytes are expensive and not needed at all!! Also, they contain no appreciable amounts of potassium anyhow.
@HealthCoachKait16 күн бұрын
We don’t want a lot of potassium in a daily supplement though. Too much potassium can be dangerous and we can get plenty through food (avocado, salmon, etc.). Excess sodium can easily be excreted. The only reason to supplement a meaningful amount of potassium would be during an extended fast.

1. Maltodextrin is not a sugar, it’s a highly processed carb 2. It’s not evil 3. The reason I take electrolytes LMNT is because the dosages are actually efficacious. But I run ultra marathons and have a high sweat rate 4. They mislead. But it’s still trace amount and we already have research on this carb not being harmful compared to say… eating a surplus in calories every day 5. Inflation is the root cause to many ailments, but it’s primarily caused by excess body fat which is mostly caused by overconsumption of calories. You avoid processed foods? Processed foods aren’t inherently bad. Ever had nonfat Greek yogurt? Whey protein? Maybe you meant ultra-processed foods? Which in moderation aren’t harmful, but in excess yes. We have human randomized control trials on all this. If you need me to provide studies just ask. I eat a balanced diet, and I take LMNT. hate highly restrictive diets as they’re not necessary and are rarely sustainable. All the best

They were not aware that their manufacturer was using this ingredient in this amount. You need to do more research and save your drastic headlines for click bait!! 🙄

There is no way they didn’t know their manufacturer was using it for all these years. Like I said, I don’t think it is a big deal, and it makes sense why it was used. If they are claiming they didn’t know that’s ridiculous 😂

Them not knowing what is in THEIR OWN products is a problem! But they actually did know. Don't let them gaslight you!

Actually they did know. YOU should do a little more research and listen to Rob Wolff himself on Dr Ken Berry's podcast.They made the conscious choice not to disclose it both at the 4mg and 400-550mg level.
