Undertale is seen entirely from the eyes of a small child known as Frisk... but imagine how different the game would be if they never existed! Well, there mightn't be much of a game... but how would the story be affected? Could the monsters ever escape the underground without Frisk's intervention? Underlab finds out!

When Chara died, Asriel only had their soul, and could have effortlessly wiped out all of the humans attacking him. Asgore with 7 human souls, as well as the intention to kill, would easily bring genocide to humankind.

Can you do a theory on all the temmies. Like how they came to be, Bob, their obsession with humans, how temmie can go outside the battle board, etc... I am very confused why they exist as the only reason I see they are in the game besides the Temmie armour in pacifist run. Please explain.

I JUST remembered- chara and asriel are a lot older than frisk. or at least older in some way. because they died and then when they came back they looked the same age as frisk. so if how they looked was true to their age then they must have been REALLY young when they died. if they look now how they did when they died, then they are most likely a lot older then frisk, because remember there was enough time to gather six human souls between the time when the two friends died and when frisk falls down. so if chara was older than frisk then that would be a huge over exaggeration of the angsty teen phase for both asriel and chara(asriel meaning flowey) and if they were a lot younger when they died then that is just heartbreaking.

It's called a ladder people! With only a few hundred monsters alive, alphys could literally just build some sort of lift to get the monsters out from the ruins. Unless humans are smart and also put a barrier there, idk.

Imagine a game following the first fallen child's best friend, who would go searching for him and eventually fall into the mountain as well. They would find the kingdom in ruins after Asriel's death, and eventually confront Asgore as to what had happened to the fallen child. We all know what would come after. Then at the very end, a cutscene would play showing the first awakening of Flowey.

I know it's a bit late but I think I might have a reason why Undyne wears an eyepatch. She might be some sort of pirate as pirates wore patches for a functional purpose. The coveted eye would have adapted to the dark so instead of waiting for both eyes to adjust, she could just flip up her eyepatch and see in a dim room.

well if they never had save points but could still reload then they technically could have still gotten pretty far. they would go all the way back to the beginning each time they died no matter how far they got. but i doubt they would have gotten past Omega Flowey since he has an attack that cannot be dodged, they certainly wouldn't have gotten the true ending. so most likely the Monsters would have never gone free and perhaps it would be for the best if Frisk just stayed with Toriel. or maybe they do leave Toriel but they would have to avoid confronting Asgore at least for a while. in short Frisk would have stayed in the Underground forever. or they would have gotten frustrated and killed everyone just to leave the Underground. but imagine a genocide run without save points O_O now THATs a bad time

I know that this doesn't relate to the video, but I was watching a few Cave Story let's plays and I noticed a few similarities between Cave Story's Normal Ending boss fight and Undertale's Neutral boss fight. For one, both bosses are pretty gargantuan compared to the protagonists (Quote and Frisk respectively) Secondly, both Omega Flowey and The Undead Core (from Cave Story) show what appears to be distorted and disturbing versions of normal human faces (The Undead Core going so far as to even show a deathly grin, slightly reminiscent to that of smiledog.jpg, however you spell it.), which leads me to my last point Both are pretty darn creepy and disturbing in their own rights. But that was what I mainly noticed. Did Toby try to mirror this in the Omega Flowey fight, apart from the distorted human faces, I doubt. But that was my two cents anyway, sooooo, yeah, if you read this far, than uhhh, you just wasted a short amount of time reading this comment made by a random bloke in South Africa, sooo, yeah. from personal experience, frisk being absent in the universe would result in said universe finding a replacement human. universes always find replacements, and there actually are a few universes where frisk does indeed get replaced by another human who saves the underground, sometimes more than one human coming into play (i'm talking about "together"). however, there are universes that either have no replacement, or are just too lazy to find one. universes can be like that at times.

If Asriel had gone back in time far enough, he probably would have refused to take part in Chara's plan to go to the surface and kill six humans. That raises the question: would he try to befriend someone again who he knows is determined to kill others because he loves them, or would he let Chara die for the greater good? That would be an interesting premise regardless of whether it involved "Undertale" or not.

Not knowing how Asriel's powers work, or the limits of saving and resetting over another's file, I can't be sure, but I won't doubt that it's an interesting idea.

I believe there is an AU called FutureTale where it took much longer for a human to fall into the underground

Asreil knowing the future would be a temporary thing. Since the more that they changed, the more different the future will be. It's like when biff went back in time to 1955 and have his younger self the 1950-2000 sports almanac. The timeline would be the same until biff bets on his first few races and wins, then the timeline would slowly separate from the main one, resulting in a world that's completely different from the original timeline by 1985. Basically, once asreil survived the attack by the humans by slaughtering all of them, the timeline would diverge, and he'd be no longer able to accurately predict the future.
