UNDERTALE: The Last Amalgamate - Part 1

After a mysterious event causes the barrier to be destroyed, monsters are now free to escape their underground prison. But before any of that happens, there is one last thing that needs to be taken care of. One person (or people) that needs to return to their family.
The first part sees Alphys asking Frisk and a friend from long ago for help and preparing to set out for the last amalgamate's home.

Undertale Yellow is one of the most hard made fan games ever existing, yet we have to admit that we dont know when Frisk&Clover falls to the Underground. They were fallen in unknown timelines(Frisk are in the Far Future with their characters, and Clover are 20XX), also we have to notice that Frisk describing revolver as the ancient one, so unfortunately Undertale Yellow isnt even nearly canonic because of Alphys&Undyne approaching. Still its(messed up timeline) not rejecting the overall story about yellow soul behaviour(faith/justice)

It’s so heartbreaking how Martlet sees Clover in Frisk, and is especially attached to them.. I personally head canon that monsters have difficulty distinguishing humans apart, especially children, because their species is so varied they constantly don’t have to worry about mixing each other up because they have so many visual differences, but with humans we are basically just a bipedal hairless creature with hair on the tops of our heads, two eyes, a nose, and a mouth with four appendages. We vary in skin tone but it’s just a mix between really dark brown or really light brown, and our eyes and hair are occasionally light enough to be blue or blonde. They haven’t evolved to catch onto things like facial features which is often our main way of distinguishing people we know to prove it’s our friend and not someone else, so Martlet probably feels attached to Frisk because like Clover they have brown hair, similar height, etc.

I know I said it like, twice in the live chat but really liked the overworld spritework here. Also, interesting Kanako amalgam design concept emphasizing her loss of identity. Also also, headcanon of my own so sorry if it seems like I'm pressing it upon your story, but based on unused text in Undertale I think kanako might be the only child amalgamate, so it's interesting to see her being a lot more traumatized and scared here (of course there's other factors that made her...unique)

8:37 Disguising the elevator as a bathroom is, in fact, NOT genius due to the fact that monsters don't need to go to the bathroom. The Venus Flytrap monster at Grillby's confirms this.

Monsters do talk about bathrooms as a concept in a few lines in Undertale. Most of them are from Sans or Papyrus, which leads to the theory that they're from Deltarune, but there are a few other examples from random npcs here and there. It could be that Toby just forgot when writing some flavor text, but if you want an in universe explanation you could say that for monsters a "bathroom" is a literal "bath room" only meant for cleaning themselves.
