My friend made me promise to do a True Pacifist Run first. She knew I wouldn’t be able to do a Genocide Run after that! Even if I was to do a Genocide Run I wouldn’t be able to kill Goat Mom, Papyrus and Mettaton! Hell I wouldn’t be able to even kill Goat Dad! Ok Muffet is actually pretty cool and that sounds weird for me to say because I have severe arachnophobia. Undyne even though she pissed me off but I would never kill her and again I gotta mention Mettaton. At first I thought he was annoying in the game but goddamn it the dude really grows on you after a while. Especially in this musical. I couldn't help but grow to love the guy. In other words my "Genocide Run" would be a Neutral Run. x.x Even though I know if I do restart I'll just do another True Pacifist. That's IF I play Undertale again. Obviously I had to hug goat bro at the end. Poor kid needed a hug badly after all that he's been through.

Oh my... I'm not crying. I swear. This. Just so many things about this were perfectly delivered. The beginning solo section was so regretful and sad, and beautiful in a haunting way. Then the muffled-- --sobbing broke my heart. Even once it transitioned into the duet, Asriel sounded like he was holding back crying while still trying to be strong, and Frisk's part of the duet was just so calm and comforting. It took me right back to that moment in the game, silently yelling at Frisk to not let him go... Just...a wonderful job everyone.

So, funny story. This very song---this very youtube video---actually introduced me to Undertale in a way about a year ago. I met two friends online who went by Asriel and Frisk, not knowing their usernames were Undertale references for a while until my friend pointed it out. Not long after another friend posted this video in my discord chat, and I was impressed by this song, and shortly after my friends Azzy and Frisk got me interested in their characters in a non-spoilerish way (I didn't even know this song is a spoiler, if you consider it one). You can notice Asriel and Frisk fighting during this song, but not in a physical way. Their opinions of what is supposed to happen now are clashing hence them singing at the same time, but with different lyrics. They literally have a thug of war. While Frisk remains calm, it is clear that Asriel is struggling and sometimes just shouts attempting to gain dominance. However he slowly but changes his favor from "Leave me alone, I deserve no mercy" to "Stay with me". Despite that, it is more important to come to this conclusion by paying attention to the way they are conveying their feelings instead of what exactly they are saying, which is a rather difficult task when listening to this song only once. You need to replay it at least one time to catch the full lyrics. I love this detail which makes this musical so unique because we are used to listen to verbal fights in songs where both contestants are letting the other speak without interrupting. This happens in most Disney movies or even in rap battles. I love this video, very well done.

This is one of my favorite tracks in this musical and also Undertale in general. I could tell listening to Hopes and Dreams that Atwas is a belter and that if she let it rip she could give her singing a powerful emotional punch. This song proves that suspicion as Asriel's cries get more intense near the end, and the feels start punching. And they won't stop. :'(

It's been six years since this came out and I only just found it...and only just realized that when Frisk joins in at 1:56 , their first two lines of lyrics are the same as Asriel's first lyrics in "Memory": "It's not fair to be alone After what you've been through" First, Asriel comforted Chara, but now he is being comforted by Frisk. On an unrelated note, Asriel's VA is 110% the best Asriel voice I've ever heard. That harmonization was just too beautiful.
