rings wise, yes but stylistically no. kobe may of copy every jordan moves but he still did not play like mj. kobe like to used his foot works to shake and bake his opps and if that does not work. he goes into chucking mode. which mean jack up every shots and some will go in. that why kobe has the record of most shot misses in the nba history. something mj and kawhi does not do. mj and kawhi unlike kobe that like to rely on on his foot works to get his opps to get off him. both mj and kawhi like to used the 3 dribble shoot/fade away to create space to get alway from their opps to have a much higher percentage shots and they both also like to used the quick first step to get pass their opps to the rim for a dunk or a layup even though kawhi first step is much slower then mj but nothing less it still looks like mj and it works. this is why kawhi is much closer to mj in style then kobe. the things that i did not like kobe doing while he was playing is that. kobe has a very low iq when it come to creating space between him and his opps and with that low iq. kobe will always chuck up very bad shots, that could of been avoided if he would of 1. do the 3 dribble shot/fade always to create space betwen him in his opps. so he will get a much better look at the basket for a better percentage shot. 2. if he is guarded by his opps and he could not get pass his opps with his foot works to give up the ball to one of his open teammates to have a better shot or hand it off and get yourself open more to have a much better look at the basket for a better shot. all of his bad shots would of been much less if he would of just did these two things at a really high lvl like mj and kawhi does but we all know how kobe like to do things. hand him the ball and watch him chuck up bad shots for days. this is why kobe never had a shooting percentage over 45% his hole career because of bad shooting decisions. something mj and kawhi does not do. hence why both of them have a high shooting percentage over kobe. so all in all kobe win it come to rings then yes he the closest to mj by missing out 1 ring but when it come to style/smarts. kawhi is closer to mj then kobe is and this is not a knock on kobe. he did everything mike did but his low court iq just got in the way of his success of catching/beating mj. now let see if kawhi can keep this going and win a few more rings and if he does maybe at the end of his career. kawhi will be the one to be next to mj as the closes player to mj and not kobe but only time will tell.
