As an Everton fan, we owe Kevin Campbell a lot he single handedly kept us in the prem when he came in on loan in 1999. Scored 9 in 8 games. Without them goals we definitely would of been relegated. Then we signed him on a permanent deal. Legend. thanks super Kev

I know someone who met Kevin Campbell and Marcus Bent in the Rectory in Wilmslow years ago and the lad (Man United fan) went over drunk and just said ‘you’re a fucking legend’ - the response was a Kevin Campbell bear hug and a beer. Says it all doesn’t it? All that is good about football is summed up by the kind of person Kevin Campbell is, properly loved in football. A true legend, maybe not in the way some people use the term but a legend regardless. Great podcast lads, this two parter is immense. Keep it up!

Yes he came from an era when players where earning decent money BUT still in contact and relatable with the fans. That's gone now and I for one don't watch football much anymore apart from Arsenal

For people of my generation, Kevin Campbell is a true Everton hero. We signed him from Turkey and he single handedly kept us up. He was an amazing signing and a true gent. He’s idolised at goodison and I’ve been in the pub on derby day when he’s been in and people are fighting with eachother to buy him a pint. Super Kev is a hero to us blues.

Lived opposite the Campbell family in Brixton. Great family. Was with him throughout his Arsenal career and paid attention to him at all his other clubs. I've been to the Trabzon old stadium. The most intimadating place ever. It was situated in old back streets and at every turn you sensed danger. The fans are so passionate. Luckily I was with some Trabzon fans who even arranged for me to have a tour round the stadium the night before. So proud were they of their stadium they actually called the groundsman and told him in no uncertain terms to open the stadium as someone from England wanted to look. If anyone thinks the Istanbul Derby is mad, Trabzonspors hatred for Fenerbahce is worst.
