Phil! The man is an inspiration. It's difficult not to have some of his passion and childlike wonder for archeology rub off on you.

Phil Harding is a thrill to watch when he is working or teaching. He has such enthusiasm and joy in archeology.

Phil should be given so many honors with all of his archaeology, versus others flapping their lips and gaining knighthoods, whereas Phil should have emeritus status across so many academic and scholarly organizations, and a knighthood !

Has no one ever thrown a large piece of chalk on a bonfire?? (It has to be a large hot fire to work... like perhaps for a cremation??) The white light the chalk gives off when it ignites is brighter than the sun!

When they were holding up those white chalk spheres in their hands and musing what they could have been, I thought they might have been a symbol of the moon.

@@animaanimus8011 They had no reason to think it was flat, bowl-shaped, round, or anything else that might look that shape. People might have thought it was any of those things.

It was round, at least circular, some of the time. During those times, the scary dark was less dark, perhaps less scary.

They knew it was the moon, because the other symbol is the crescent, and the druids, and those before them, all prayed to bel or baal, who is still worshipped today, who they thought was the true GOD but is not. This entity demanded that they worship him in a specific direction, on specific day's. They celebrate on October 31 called samhain the dead spirit festival of bel, which they believe allows them to communicate with dead ancestors from the demonic world. The Bible actually warns to never do this (Isaiah 8:19), but it is still being done today. On November 1st, they used stonehenge formations in Ireland and across Great Britain to coordinate the angle to the same location in mecca back then, and now at sunrise to the east. Each stonehenge has special stone's that line up exactly on November 1st, which allow them with the circle alignment to find baal, who is currently held in the black stone in the kaaba. The location sits on seven mountain's in the dessert wilderness, surrounded on all side's by a body of water. This description of the harlot city where the image of a beast is located, which is worshipped, and the black stone was set inside this image by the false prophet, who was deceived into believing he had talked to Gabriel for 22 year's, but it was the master deceiver, who can personify himself as another angel. The end book in the Bible warns of this, and many other thing's if you look. G-d bless.

it's funny how they surmise they dug the graves into the hillside.. what if they were actually inside the cave mouth, living .. and some catastrophic earth movement dropped the cave down into the valley, and they were buried with the rubble. I would love to pose that question and have that analysed. it's so exciting to see new things in such an old established written about country.

I sometimes wonder whatever happened to the great massy golden table mentioned by Edward Gibbon in his History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.
@timjackson190417 күн бұрын
On the dark age cave burials, I could imagine that as these were turbulent times, a 'group' of people may have 'retreated' to the cave to avoid others and set up 'camp' in the cave. I could imagine a ladder to gain access, On cleaning the cave up for habitation, they would have found the Neolithic bones and treated them as revered relics, hence being buried with them seeing the cave as a 'holy' type site. The burials would have to be outside the cave (smell!) and not far away or they would risk discovery and become involved with the 'turbulence' outside. So a localised style of burial because of their isolation?. But ...what do I know, its my imagination lol.

The stones from the islands of Scotland weren't all found on the islands. They're found all over. Still no ideas what they are or what they mean. Boat hierarchy people that carry a stone around as a sign of power??? That's a pretty far fetched idea? Why didn't we get more information on the crannogs? It was quickly shifted?? 🏴👀🤔🇬🇧
