I have excellent health insurance, and I had to be hospitalized twice and on the verge of losing my colon before I finally received inflectra (which is basically remicade). It's so frustrating and difficult to fight the insurance company while you're sick! -But once I received inflectra, I started to feel better in less than a day. And I regained the weight I had lost in just a few months. I really hope you get the medicine you need soon!

I’m so sorry you had the experience! But happy to hear you finally got your inflectira and made improvements. I also had to get worse but got approved for Skyrizi four months after this video. Thank you for your support!

I was diagnosed with CD in June '22. Doctors made me try Mesalamine first. After a year my CRP is 16 and FCP is 625. Spent almost $5,000 on these useless pills. Biologics do have risks (~60% success rate) and are expensive though. I might try natural medicine.

That is such a pain, I’m so sorry 😔 Biologics are definitely not risk free but out of all the options they have the best risk to benefit ratio. Alternative medicine can definitely have fewer risks but there is no research to suggest such treatments are effective beyond a placebo. For what it’s worth, I gave “natural medicine” a solid try and it just ended up being a huge waste of time and money. I hope that whatever route you go down you find a treatment that works for you! ❤️‍🩹

i’m only 11 min in to this so far but-can i DM you from somewhere??? i know your instagram is p much just reposted reels of clips from your astrology yt vids, but do you dm people from there ever? i don’t have a single, all-encompassing solution to your situation per se… but i have lived through this whole experience of having autoimmune illness (encephalitis) and not having insurance cover treatment, etc. we’re literally 5-6 months apart in age (sounds creepy to know but i gathered this from your astrology videos😂) and the least i can offer is support/understanding. but also i do have ideas of what could help you. if not, that’s obviously fine and i’ll just continue to hope for the best for you from afar. chronic illness is absolute ass. (PS i have jupiter-greater benefic bc day chart-in the 6th house of physical health???? and it has no aspects to either malefic???? WHAT A JOKE AMIRITE😭)

Thank you so much for your concern 💛 Right now I’m not really seeking out medical advice but if you have some insight feel free to share it in the comments so anyone who might benefit can see it ☺️

i wish any of this was a surprise, but healthcare for chronic illnesses is unfortunately famously nightmarey 🫠 the exact reasons vary by location and condition, e.g. i've been going through hell with a public healthcare system since 2012, to the point of considering saving up to get private surgery in a different country, but it's widely discussed within chronic illness /disability /spoonie circles i also had no idea before going through it myself, and everyone around me without direct experience has been horrified, but all my fellow chronically ill people immediately 'get it' and aren't shocked i'm so sorry you have to go through a doomed to fail treatment before getting access to the thing we know actually works - i'm doing something similar and it's an exhausting process i wish i understood why it was so fucked up, it seems to be a mixture of finances, burnt out medical staff losing their capacity for empathy, and too many additional people who aren't medically trained but hold power over access 🙄 but it's so nebulous and affecting a marginalised population with less capacity to fight it gratitude and perspective is important, but you're also very much in reality about the system you're navigating being fucked up 💔

It really is sad how I notice myself getting more and more desensitized to news like this. But it’s powerful when I hear people who are none the wiser be really surprised! Thank you for your sweet comment and hoping you’re doing okay with navigating the system ❤️‍🩹
