💚 You were a class act through it all, expedition captain. I was lucky to have such a man among men by my side. Such incredible irony that we had that conversation the night before. On the subsequent solo Wabakimi trip I noticed how much less laughter there was. And worse, little to no food to mooch. Can't wait for our next trip Xorb! -Jorb/Jorm PS Could you send me a print of that nude painting you did of me at the Bill Mason campsite? Preferably gigantic size. Going to surprise Erin for her birthday.

One of the great trips Canada has to offer, and so beautifully documented. Was wonderful to see the old cabin used by Anderson Fisheries from Michipicoten, for overnight stays sometimes. Also used by groups stuck on the Lake waiting for transport back to the mouth of the Michipicoten river., Anderson did that too. So happy to read all the wonderful comments and joy being spread in the world. This channel will inspire some great trips and young paddlers. Best Wishes !

Wow. Thanks so much for this video. My wife and I did this same trip in 1982, when we were stronger and younger. After that, we went north of Nakina and did those rivers toward Hudson's Bay, but the Pukaskwa always stood out for its beauty and wonderful campsites. Back then access was from Highway 17, down the White River, up a small stream to Pokei Lake/Gibson Lake/Jarvey Lake, and then down the Pukaskwa. It was all wilderness back then - no logging roads. I think the portages were a little better, but we didn't have any detailed maps like you had. Anyway, it was great watching this and reliving those wonderful experiences. Thanks for taking the time to film your adventures in this great place.

On 2008, I hiked, in one day, from the Hattie Cove campground to the mouth of the Willow River and back. Beautiful sunny day. Forest was boreal at the start, but nearer the lake's micro-climate, there were many aspens. A special day. So, I was interesting to see you fellows pass by. Pretty nice campsite there with a bear box.

Don't be too hard on yourself about forgetting the food. I always forget something. My oldest brother (now 85) took a 900 mile canoe trip across northern Canada about 30 years ago along with five other men. My sister in law drove him to the start point and she had picked up two 40 pound sacks of flour for the bannock. As she kissed my brother off, they realized she had picked up two sacks of rye flour instead of regular bread flour. Needless to say, the men ate rye bannock. It worked but wasn't the best.

I can't tell you how happy I am to see y'all in drysuits. And also on whitewater. Pass or fail, you are doing things right. Just remember one thing. Those of us who love WW also don't know how to do even one third of the stuff you do to plan trips, make food plans, and exist in any environment beyond a few hours of enjoyment. Most of the WW paddlers I know will NEVER do a multi-day trip, EVER in their life. This is a whole other ball game and one that is very educational to watch. So, thanks for that.

My girlfriend and I paddled this back in 2001, in one canoe. I sprained my ankle on the second day, on a portage, and we had to make the same decision whether to forge ahead or turn around. We foraged ahead, which meant extra portaging for my girlfriend as my ankle could not take the weight for a few days. Watching your video I can't believe we did it. Thanks for the video. Love your content.

You guys work so well together. Thanks for taking us along! It is a lot of extra effort to always have the cameras positioned and rolling and I’m sure you don’t always feel like taking video. What an amazing trip and such a beautiful area. Lake Superior never disappoints!

The relationship you both have with each other is pretty awesome. It takes two special people to be alone for 12 days during trying times, it says a lot about both of you. What an awesome adventure. Trials and tribulations and beauty that fills your heart and soul. Can’t wait for the next trip the two of you take. You’re so good together in these things. You both have skills in different areas that fit together perfectly for trips like that. Cheers my Canadian friends.

Wow. I thought I would watch this video before bed to relax…NOT! What an intense trip for you two. Xander was great and funny, but your demeanor was your normal steady self. Be proud of who you are and what you are doing. Mistakes happen. What we do afterwards define us. Great video even though it kept me up! I am proud of you.

Some day, if things go in the right direction, you and Xander might consider a Channel with the two of you with all things being equal. THAT would be cool. Don't know if it would be worth the effort, but it might be fun. This one was like watching a really good movie! Entertaining, dramatic, funny, great cast.
