I use the Unger rub out to, a great product for only for deep first clean restorations only to do things 100% right. The odd day to day stains that come on while water fed pole. CIF (couple of quid) or Pink Stuff paste (0.89p from B&Ms) readily available on hand locally, does the job just fine for the odd rogue stains that arrives month to month. Also handy to keep a bottle of bar keepers friend powder, which has removed the odd 1 in a 100 stains that your other products cant. A good bottle of UPVC solvent cleaner like Siroflex. White magic sponges. Lighter fluid for stickness removal like tape. Doesn't harm having one of each product also in the arsenal , in case you get into a jam where you product of choice doesn't work so good

Love this stuff I use it with a oad and quite wet it works better in my opinion than a dry or dryer set up. We can charge £150 plus for a Restoration on a standard 3 bed and afterwards people are so pleased as it looks like they have had new windows and doors. Great vid Trad man

Very helpful. Any way of getting the frames and sills as clean on a 2nd story without using a ladder? Or just use only on ground floor sills/frames?
@TradMan4 жыл бұрын
If your using a wfp, then you can apply some Unger rub out to a bronze wool pad and use that via the wfp bronze wool adaptor, problem is you won't see the sills. So only options really are ladder or going inside and doing the sills from inside if your gonna do the frames from the ground floor using wfp

Hey Peter do you think is possible to add it to water?

TRAD - MAN THE WINDOW CLEANER cool so I got a hard water stain to remove if I use the unger and just a cloth should come up nice shouldn’t it?
@TradMan4 жыл бұрын
@@alexmunn36 you'll probably need the bronze pad to scrub it but depends on the stain, in some cases you'll need even stronger chemical like crystal clear

So I just started washing a barber shop with some stains on one of the mirrors. The mirror is from at least the 70s, maybe older. Is Rub Out safe to use on mirrors? I wouldn’t think being a mirror should affect what products are safe, but I’d like to be sure.
@TradMan5 жыл бұрын
The bottle doesn't say not to use on mirrors. You could try a small amount in a corner of that mirror first and see how it comes up, try like the bottom left or right, somewhere that is not too visible. It should be perfectly fine but always best to test in a small area first and see.

Great Infor love the stuff .... how much would charge Peter if customers ask to restore frames

I would charge at least double if not triple a maintenance clean price to do frame restoration. 👍🏻

Hi Trad Man, loving the videos. Any advice on removing old paint spots/stains from Rosewood upvc window frames? I've removed the bigger spots with a scraper and tried warm soapy water and a scour pad and even white spirit but with no joy. Thanks Dave
@TradMan4 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave! Do you know what kind of paint it was?
@davidskillicorn63734 жыл бұрын
@@TradMan Hi Trad Man, I think it's gloss or satin wood. the big spots came off quite easily but the small spots/stains will not come off the frame. Not sure what to use without damaging the frame. Cheers Dave

@@davidskillicorn6373 my mate who's a painter is suggesting cellulose thinners but he says watch it's strong stuff, try a small amount in a corner of the frame so you can test it.

Glass or frames? If it's glass (with no tint or film) you can use quite powerful stuff like crystal clear, but if it's frames you have to be more careful. I normally stick to unger rub out and pink stuff for frames.

Did you say it will get rust off glass Pete. Think I might order some and give it a go. Great video brother 👍
@TradMan5 жыл бұрын
I've used it on glass that had rust marks from a grinder. It got the rust off but the damage was below the surface so you could still feel little chips but it wasn't as noticeable with the rust gone 👍🏻 So it depends how bad the damage is really
