@@GrievenceCapitolistI've never seen drywallers stand up sheets on timber framing. If you have a bowed stud where your seam lands you're screwed. Metal framing you have perfectly straight studs so it's never an issue so you can stand the boards up no problem.

See i dont know anything about any of this, but his way of explaining things is so simple and to the point that it made sense to me. I can just tell he knows what he's doing, and even the way he doesn't boast, rather, he says for example that he knows what hes doing is quite sloppy.. but that he's doing it the right way, the simple way, and in the scenario where time wasn't a constriction he could do the best flawless work imaginable, and he will not brag about it because he's humble and knowing of his ability. I do not know when, but im sure some of these tricks will be useful for me in the future, or even the simple thought process behind the birth of some these tips such as the scrap board marker has been planted into my mind and could pose useful in totally unrelated works.

I've been a drywall finisher for over 35 yrs . Now if you are going too hand finish it that's fine but I'll save you some time on wipeing down your tape, use an 8 inch blade on your flats put the mud on horizontal, then put the tape on, then wipe down starting from the middle. Now with the corner don't use two blades use your 6inch blade same method with mud on with the side of the blade going up vertical put tape on then wipe or you can use what we call a meatball roller to apply the mud try this and your speed will double because your not going back too wipe the edges

Nice video, but plasterboarding is easy when other workers (painters) are following to “hide” the imperfections and house owners are the ones to experience the cracks showing after a while… 1) who says the underlaying structure in old houses is plane and ready to fix plasterboards on? And does the structure meet the boards’ mounting requirements? 2) why not put in insulation in all walls? Makes a difference in sound transmission 3) is it OK not to have an underlaying structure on the short edges of the plaster panels? Could very well be the difference between a good and a bad result in plaster boarding. 4) when working with plaster boards in wet rooms (bathrooms with required ventilation), shouldn’t you be putting in plastic folio (dont know the name for it) behind the plasterboard to not get moist inside the organic structure? 5) did you support the inside corner with a structure all along? Orherwise it’s likely to crack in the seam… Like the video concerning the plasterwork, but be carefull when thinking long term 😅

SD 5000-A22 is the new version, I have the older one the same the guy is using in the video and it is worth it’s weight in gold. You are not locked into buying screws from hilti. I use off brand screws every day. There are a couple of cheaper brands of screws that get jammed in the gun but the majority of reputable dealers make strips that work fine in this gun. If you are fitting drywall as a career a hilti collated screw gun is the best investment you can make in my opinion. Mine has paid for itself many, many times over
