Can you please make a video how to connect cables on R8 in fuse box in your car?

I am not using the fuse box to connect mine, but the power from the rear mirror instead. I am pretty sure someone else on KZbin did a tutorial about this installation you're looking for though. Good luck!

Yes, same screen on both units. Nothing improved from the R7 to R8 in that area. Just the hardware/software is a bit better.

What's your opinion should I get the R8 or should I get the R7 and save me some money if it's not all that different. Where I live we have police with KA bands and lazers

R7 and R8 are pretty close to each others in relation of functionality and performances. If you want a good radar detector while saving some money, just get the R7.

How good work the Unide in LASER in Europe? Many US Detector have in Europe problems with LASER Mode. Only Valentine one work perfect.

Radar detector with laser option will never be super good at warning you when you get tagged with a laser. The Uniden does a great job warning you, but by the time you get the warning, you are already tagged, so it's too late. The best to avoid laser detection is to install a laser jammer instead.

Je l'ai seulement testé au USA, mais sinon il a un mode "Europe" dans le menu, alors ça devrais fonctionner en Belgique. Mais je vous conseil de regarder des video sur KZbin de personnes qui l'utilise dans vôtre pays pour être sure avant d'acheter.

Both of them works very well with filtering K band alerts. However, I believe that the R8 have a slight improved filter than the R7.

Both will work perfectly in NYC. The R7 would be cheaper for you though, for the use in your big city. Only advantage of the R8 is the detecting range, but in a open area. Both are pretty much the same while used in a city though.

The R7 I've read reviews complaining about the laser detector rarely work or never works. I don't know if they fixed this issue with the R8.

Usually, ALL radar detector are bad at detecting laser, because once you get targeted by law enforcement, they got you. Even if your device warn you, it's already too late. That's why it's always recommended to get a laser jammer, along with using a radar detector.

i have a question for you since you have both, I took my car in to change my windshield, I forgot about the mount I had on it for my r8, and they there it away, I cant find the mount anywhere to buy it, even at uniden's website, but they sell the mount for the r7, are they the same? will the r7 mount click and fit opn the r8? and the plug on the side the small r11 plug is for the laser jammers uniden is going to release, they hook up there

Yes, I had the same issue like you, and fortunately ALL R7 mount works for the R8. They click in place exactly like they did with the R7 too.

Ooo lya lya! strong French accent! Therefore, the question is what kind of radar detectors ( models) can be used in France!!! Where, as we are all know, VERY, VERY serious consequences of using such devices. P.S. My experience - NEOLINE X-COP 870s, not in France offcourse...

Oh un autre Français ?... And yes both of those radar detector have a European settings, so they technically be used in France as well. Just be careful to don't be caught with it, because it kinda illegal to use there still. Good luck! ;)

Both are great for NYC. The R8 has the best range though.
