@@yopacific Yes, that's exactly what makes it safe. Its prescription is very regulated. A lot of other really common medications are not and they extremely dangerous and we see a lot of intoxications and damage because of that. Liver failure because of tylenol (acetaminophen) is so common (and deadly), yet nobody demonizes it. You can buy it everywhere and take as much as you please. Also the toxic dose is so close to the therapeutic dose. With accutane, the liver toxicity is something we know but very controlled. In medicine there are a lot of things that make a drug safe, not just the side effects.

Yes. Apparently abstinence is no gauruntee for preventing unwanted pregnancy. I personally know a girl that had impure thoughts and got pregnant because of it. On another note, the ASMR is excellent.
@sedriczhiggory2 жыл бұрын
It's quite ridiculous at face value, but I wonder if it's more that they don't trust patients to be truly abstinent 100% of the time. So, the "additional form" covers for those "oops" moments.
@mollywinda85372 жыл бұрын
It’s because Actuane is almost guaranteed to cause birth defects if you get pregnant whilst taking it. That’s why they want you to be on a birth control that is not just “abstinence” because it’s too risky.
@BlisaBLisa2 жыл бұрын
she said something like "the second form of birth control is up to the patient" I think its just a way to guarantee they're on birth control even if they choose abstinence as their second form of it, bc its too risky to just trust they won't have any sex. though idk why not just require taking the prescribed birth control without the second form that the patient decides
@J10098Ай бұрын
Abstinent means no chance of pregnancy, unless you are assaulted which is unlikely. To put abstinent and or never active women on birth control that can mess up their hormones when they were perfectly healthy before and for no reason is wild. So what if they get pregnant while on accutane - does accutane affect the baby?

I have a girlfriend that always got pretty bad acne from time to time and she finally did accutane. It definitely worked-acne completely erased. BUT it aged her face a LOT. She looked 15 years older when she was done. Skin really dry looking,ashen. Dark shadows under her eyes,thicker wrinkles. She didn’t see any of that though,just SO happy to have face clear for the first time in her life. It was hard for me to compliment her though because I feel like at least the acne made her seem younger 🤷🏻♀️10 years later her acne is still gone though.

Mine didn’t age me, but my skin is so dry now I get dry patches if I don’t take large doses of fish oil everyday. My eyes are also chronically dry and my vision permanently changed after.
