This is a first for me to see this type of mower. As someone commented it’s almost like a 1990’s version of a zero turn radius mower. Very interesting.

Being from the U.S. and being a big fan of vintage mowers, it is a thrill to see vintage British brands because some are so different than what you would have seen here in the 60s 70s and 80s. Just a few brands that are now defunct or have gone modern are...Wizard....White's.....Western Auto... Sears....Snapper....Simplicity and a dozen other brands that have awesome vintage machinery. Thanks for your vids and keep'em coming.

This has made me really want to buy a Westwood lawnmower now and only last Tuesday I had a great opportunity when one came up in my local auction. It only sold for £30 and was working with grass box and key. A lovely mower indeed.

Looks like it did a fine job of cutting, and the fun factor only adds to it!

Way ahead of its time. A zero turn a long time before the now trend of having a zero turn. In Oz now despite the cost most new mowers seem to be of the zero turn variety. I must admit I was still living in the UK back in the 90's and never saw one of those. Given the price I expect they resided in the stock broker belt away from the common proletariats such as myself. I enjoy your presentations which have that refined English style to them not found elsewhere. Most others I watch are American. Enjoyable but just different in presentation. Class little mower. I wouldn't mind owning one of them. Chance of finding one here somewhere between zero and nil.

Someone I know has bought a piece of land and they had a couple of old mowers on. A clipper was one of them and it has been untouched for 15 years can't wait to start restoring it

Thank you very much this video. This is the first time seeing the clipper. What an awesome mower. 😀👍🇨🇦

Wow, what a kooky design. It looks mostly like a rear-engine rider, but with the wild card of that steering system. Pretty cool!

That's a neat looking mower. I love seeing the differences in mowers from England versus mowers made in the US. 😁👍

Definitely a unique machine, and only for 100GBP at that! One of the few things where electrification would make sense, as well. Plenty of room for a battery up front and wheels can be replaced with hub motors when those drive gears get too worn out. Being small and even more quiet it would fit its original purpose rather well.

Very interesting machine can't say I've ever seen one but now I have hope to see more of it on the channel

Here in the states we had a mower called a swisher ride king that had a similar design. It had one wheel in the front that turned 360 degree instead of 2 and was quite smaller

That is a pretty clever design…I had a 2 wheel drive Motorcycle that had a “miter Box” to change the direction of the power to the front wheel, it also has a Albion 3 speed gear box…leaked fluid everywhere.

It looks like a very good design I'm just surprised that someone hasn't copied this. Also there's no better feeling from taking something that's not working and be able to fix it with your own two hands. That's why I like watching a lot of different repair videos on different things. There's not much that I cannot fix myself I like learning new techniques from people. It's been said that if you put four people in a room with a pencil you will have four different ways to sharpen the same pencil. This is what I have learned about repairs. Everyone has their unique way of doing things. I don't work on things professionally or for money. Most lawn equipment I can normally fix for no money and if I have to buy parts I only charge for what the parts cost me. I definitely enjoyed this video. Look forward to watching more of your videos.

My Dad worked at a lawnmower dealership back in the 80s/90s and sold one of these to a gentleman with a fairly hilly garden. I clearly remember going with Dad one evening to the guy’s house as he had complained the mower couldn’t get traction and just sat there spinning it’s wheels so he returned it for a conventional ride-on mower. These are really only for flat or near flat gardens. Great job on this one by the way, loving your vids!

very fortunate that you found a clean 'survivor' (unmolested) machine ..maybe in the future we can expect to see you treat the carbonator bits to a better treatment , such as a replating/electroplating/anodizing treatment ..I'd even try cold bluing that carb bowl to resist rust .. not sure how gasoline would make a difference but it'd be interesting to find out .. Epic Thumbs Up

Cute little machine. I feel like it would be easier to steer if the posts for the drive wheel units had a little line marker [or 'flag'] on the top of each, to indicate at what angle the wheels are facing in relation to the mower, to make steering in tight turns less clunky... Since the only other way to ascertain the angle of the wheels is to lean out to the side and try to peak under the body, while driving.
