Unique Parts of the M2 CS Racing

Looking over the parts diagrams of the M2 CS Racing I found a lot of unique items that were pretty cool. Many of them can be retrofitted to the street cars too, and you might want to consider them if modding your F8x street car.

Great info as always.I wont be worried about using a spacer anymore. !!! I tried 11 inch rear and 10 in front with 280/ 640/ 18 - 250/640 / 18 fronts yesterday on a OG M2, Required a 12 mm spacer on the front.

I totally agree. I keep "wanting" to do it, but then the more rational side of my brain kicks in... (not that being able to measure oil quickly and do topside oil changes isn't practical... dang it!)

I was thinking of purchasing the M235ir dipstick for my N55 M2 (not sure if the M235ir and M2 CS use the same dipstick since I think do share the same oil pan) until I watched your video. Good thing I watched it before buying it. But I definitely will be buying the front sway bar for my M2 since it seems like a bargain compared to aftermarket solutions.

Unfortunately not. If I were I'd be enjoying the region's taxes though! It'd be great to have either no sales tax or no income tax (which is an easy 20% combined in Silicon Valley).

Is there anywhere I can find the actual spring rates these cars use ? I track my m2c and am curious to know what these guys use . Any help is appreciated

180-220 N/mm in front and 170-210 N/mm in the rear. Default is 200 N/mm front and 190 N/mm rear. Both have helper springs and the rear is a coilover. I don't think you'd want to run these rates on a street car, or easily be able to find dampers for them.

Quick question, if you’ll know. They have the M2cs racing wheel studs, anyway will they fit rhe m2c?

@@FaRKle0079 so the lengths of them won’t be an issue either? Fronts are 62mm and the rears are 86mm. There’s no returns on then, hence why I wanna make sure before buying, as they’re a pretty penny as well 😂

@@Unholy_11 The length spec is how long the part of the stud is for the wheel side, not the hub side, so that shouldn't matter. The CSR uses REALLY thick spacers, which is why the studs are so long.

Nice video, what about front brake cooling? It looked like there was a hose on the front brakes that I don’t recognize.

You're right the CSR has brake conduits going to the knuckle area for cooling. I also think depending on the track set up they configure it differently. Maybe I'll make a video on the CSR's brake setup in particular. Thanks for the idea!

@@jmadoch one comes from the black funnels in the bumper, another from the stock M2C cooling ducts (OG does not have them, a third one use to come from the splitter holes but that seems to have been deleted. You can buy the funnels from various vendors to add them. The one from the stock location will not work unless you install steering angle limiters. Check AP motorsport they sell the whole kit for 3k or so.

Wouldn’t the CSR wheels also require an aftermarket BBK on the M2C? The stock BBK barely clear the 788 or 764s which are 19s.

You're right that up front you'd need a different caliper/rotor for the 18" motorsport wheels. They'll fit the stock rear caliper/rotor though.

In the EU and other markets the big 6 piston brakes were an option and the 4 piston blue brakes as on the OG and M3/5 were standard. So you could fit 18s no issue.

Nice vid! As to the 10.5 inch wheels up front they likely fit as the M2CSR has different steering angle stops to the M2C/S. See part number 32108431886. Wheels on a race car typically don’t have to turn much hence the wide wheels won’t rub at extreme lock positions. Not a great solution for street cars that have to parallel park lol.

Good find! It looks like you can probably put those stops on the street cars too since the main steering box/gear is the same. Although like you said, probably don't want to on a street car, haha. I wonder what the difference is between the tie rods though. Those aren't the same PN from street to CSR.
