got my 707. amazing machine. use it most as a sequencer for external synths, to control my virus synths, ms2000r, radias...great. i can even control those synths (modwheel and other ccs) with the 707 knobs. there is an knob i cant find : tx sound cc number. where is this one? i thought it was the fader, but it didnt worked. all the other 3 work correctly. i assign it to a cc but the fader doesnt send it. this would be so nice to have.

He brother loving you videos thanks! I have a question about recording the arpeggio. When the last step ends it records on top of the first step.. so i get two different notes on the same first steps.. it’s hard to let go of your fingers in the perfect time! Is there a way to record it flawless?

Thanks for these great videos! So for the new knob assign function (4th knob), how do you adjust the parameters for it on the 707? Is this only an add on, so you can transfer projects back and forth with 101? Thank you again.

Yes, it's just a virtual knob. It is possible to use the motion designer for that knob. The main purpose was to keep things consistent when transferring projects between the 2 devices.

Thans a lot for Your tutorials. I have learned a lot from videos. I very much appreciate Roland for developing the product and adding new functionality. The sound generator is fantastic. However, I am a bit disappointed with the arpeggiator - there is no synchronization with the tempo when changing the tone.

im still a little perplexed by the "phrase" mode on the arp. On the V-synth (and probably others) phrase was a customizable arp were you could input whatever notes and rests etc. on the 707 it just seems to be one locked melody pattern...?

Once recorded, the sequence would have to be erased and a new arp recorded. It's not hard to do, just hold clear and press the tracks SEL button with the clip you want to clear highlighted.

Do you know if the new computer Zencore synth patches can be loaded into the 707? Roland hype train doesn't talk about this at all and so I'm not sure if it's just for PC DAWs or if it has some real world use in their hardware...

I noticed the arp is not active from an ext keyboard. Maybe they will fix that. Not sure when or if they will make the pitch bend/mod wheel recordable from an external keyboard.

Hi, how is everything? Step sequencer on Mc707 is a mess, I mean, the workflow is not as easy as Elektron, I don't know if possible to copy bars or parts of them, to set a fixed length for each note (other than standard 0.80) when I use midi keyboard or change octaves to the final melody. A good tutorial about all about that step sequencer will be really useful. I hope you can do something about it. Regards✌🏻

You can send the metronome to headphones. You currently have it set to go out mix out, which also goes out usb. Shift+tempo is the menu you need.

They are velocity sensitive. The harder you hit them the louder they are. You can hold the NOTE pad and press the up cursor to raise the gain of the pads. Also, in the system settings, you can set the pads to be a fixed velocity.

You cant. Its a virtual knob. It is made to keep it consistent when transferring projects from 101 to 707.

O.K., but how to run multiple ARPs in parallel on different tracks?

Record one, then move onto the next track. It doesn’t take much to record a quick clip of one then move to the next, play a new arp while the first clip is playing the initial one, and record that new arp as well into a new clip on a new track. If you need three different individual arpeggios at the exact same moment in time, perhaps an external source would be your solution.

So now aftertouch works on scatter, but why not on the actual synth engine? I cannot get the built in pads to respond to aftertouch on the synth tones, but when using a midi keyboard with aftertouch I do get response. Am I doing something wrong, or does aftertouch not work on the synth tones?

I don't have an answer for that right now. I myself haven't explored after touch on synth tones on the 707 yet, and I haven't heard any official word on that from Roland themselves.

@@banjoemily3852 I agree that it is a good feature. Perhaps putting it to scatter is their way of testing it on the pads without too big of a leap. Developers have a lot on their plate covering up wide range of products, so they want to make sure they can to get it right on release. This is just my thinking, nothing more.

@@UnitE808 yes, I have been very impressed with Roland recently. They are starting to rival Novation in terms of post release product support. I would not be surprised at all if we got poly aftertouch for synth tones in a future update. Given the power and flexibility of the zen-core engine, you could have a LOT of fun with it

@@mattspazmatic all the preset tones and kits are on the 707. Projects, user samples, and exported samples are on the sd card. If it doesn't come with one, you're ok. You cannot erase the 3000+ tones and 80+ drum kits.

My MC707 won't update. After putting the SD card in with the update in the root folder and turning on the unit with shift held down, it just says Insert Update SD Card. I've even did a factory reset and no dice. Anyone else have this problem?

A couple things. 1st, was the SD card formatted on the mc 707? If it was the original card that came with the device, then it should be. Otherwise, you will have to format the card on the MC707. Secondly, is the update file that you are putting in the root drive the bin file and not the zip file? That file must be placed in the root drive, not in the Roland folder. You should see the update file next to the Roland folder.

@@UnitE808 I found the issue. The SD card was physically damaged on the bottom, causing the problem. Luckily, it still was able to be read by my Mac and I was able to move the data to a working card. Upgrade complete!

You can't make it track independent. Just turn it off when not using it.

This update is pretty lame. They didn't even fix the terrible clipchain mode that truncates notes rendering it useless in many musical situations. Um, saving user presets independent of program. And many other glaring issues.

Hi! Thank You for the channel! You may be able to help. I updated the firmware to 1.5 I have a bug with the new Scene Banks (Type 1 & 2) My TYPE 1 has a strange appearance. In MUTE mode, only one blue key (the number of the active Bank) is lit. When I switch scenes (buttons 1234) pad OCT- the backlight turns off. It only happens in MUTE mode. In all other cases, the OCT- pad works as it should. I thought maybe the green light was the problem. I made the green pads in the drums mode. When switching the scene, everything is fine - the OCT- pad is highlighted with a steady light. Is this normal or not? I’ve already broken my mind)) I did firmware 1.5 of the groove-box again. I reset everything to factory settings. The situation is the same. It makes me restless) This does not interfere with the workflow. Scenes switch as they should. It just makes me restless)) TYPE 2 looks normal. The buttons all glow with blue light. The active scene button is white. When you press the bank 1234 buttons in MUTE mode, the pad OCT - glows green with a steady light. I updated the firmware to 1.6 It is real cool firmware. But the bug with TYPE 1 is still there) What should I do with the bug of TYPE 1?
