As a New Zealander myself, and as a soul living within humanity as we all are, I’m proud to hear this excellent statesman Mr Winston Peters, speak to the need to change this Veto power that large nations hold. I totally agree that it is dysfunctional. I was also glad to hear him point out, that it is about the quality of our voice, not the size of our armies, that matter. You’ll find more good points in this speech, than you’ll find in three speeches from larger powers, with their empty words, emotional manipulations, and their perceived power over others expressed through veto and other actions behind closed doors. Such clarity and sincere contributions are needed more. The balance here was evident in the highlighting of both the extremely disgusting violence of hamas, and the ongoing reaction of israel. Bravo Winston and thanks to the entire NZ government for representing New Zealand’s voice here.

War does not work and holds not positive outcomes. This man is a reflection of our humanity and our ability to speak freely, we understand what it is like to be at the bottom of the peaking order, the long lost poor cousin in the democratic family. Yet we are always there supporting our allies when it counts. Correct. Winston Peters speaks on behalf of mature and country-loving New Zealanders (meaning the 83% that aren't chaotic socialist marxists) so yes - not all. And, via a trustworthy democratic election process, worked to gain fair proportionate representation in our parliament as well as being bestowed the honor of the Deputy responsibility - as his extensive political experience rightly affords him. Winston Peters is a great asset to New Zealand and a great statesman, and indeed his speech is reflective of the will of our one people - in both the aligned spheres of Māori and Pākehā. In times of international unrest and anxiety, our contribution to global affairs must have an experienced common-sense voice to confront and temper the provocative syndicates that leverage division and belligerent disruption.
