That was a great review, I'm picking one up next week. Will be a massive jump from my focusrite scarlet 2i2.

Great stuff , you just got your self Digital Volume Knob , Knob is great , but digital volume has 256 fixed volume positions , or less . I like my analog stuff personally , heard Digital is even nosier then Analog , in addition to being inferior .

@@GRequinBlanc Great experience! I've been in analogue for 10 years prior and still to this day, but I had to adapt for new clients that don't have the analogue budget (Especially students that want to record in my small studio). The Twin is massive!

Its funny that you use for demonstration the Ampeg B15 plugin in the unison slot. I struggling months with the UA support about a major bug in the gain stage of this plugin in the unison slot. If you start you mac put the plugin into the slot and switch the plugin off, you get 10db less gain after you switch it back on. You have to shutdown mac and apollo to get it back in the normal gain mode...I'm curious if you noticed this bug...

Tosh, very nice overview. Thanks for that. The quad version seems a tad bit pricey for still having just 2 mic/line inputs. If they had bumped the quad core up to 4 mic/line inputs as well....well, then it *might* be compelling.

question? I’m new to the Apollo twin quad. Yea I finally got one. When inside of MPCX software mode using AU output Can you record thru Apollo and Protools? I seem to be having a problem with that.I see audio coming thru my monitor input on the Apollo but not on the Analog nor Virtual input faders. How do you make audio flow thru Apollo Analog or Virtual faders when in MPCX Software Mode?

Hello i have the same mac. What thunderbolt cable do i buy for this interface?
@xaosnox5 жыл бұрын
I love everything about it but the clicky buttons and the single Thunderbolt port. The buttons feel cheap relative to the rest of the unit, and the noise is really annoying. A silent click would have been much better, especially for an audio interface! And the single Thunderbolt port means it has to be the last thing on the Thunderbolt chain, which is kind of problematic with modern Macs needing everything to go through that one port. 11:45 The rotary knob on the old unit used to let you switch between controls on the Unity plugins, but they moved that functionality to the Preamp button. It's less intuitive and convenient, but I bet too many people were accidentally pushing the rotary button and not knowing how to get it back to its basic functionality. Just a guess on why they changed something that was a nice feature.

Hi, can you tell me if the DSP helps to take the work load off all your DAW VSTs, of whether it only works on the plugins that come with it? So if I load up VSTs in my DAW, does the DSP work to relieve my computer? Thanks

Only the ones you can run in the DSP - they dont work on regular plug-ins

Strongly considering buying one of these but I'm just wondering, if you connect a different brand external interface through the optical in, say a Focusrite Octopre for example, can you use the UAD plugins on those extra ADAT channels via console while tracking?

Moses Bullrush It takes analog sound input and converts it to digital sound that your computer can understand, and the same thing backwards. It's basically a headphone jack. If you don't know what an audio interface is, you probably aren't the audience of this video
