How are you getting those plugs loaded in (around 17:00) - even at 44.1 on my twin, it balks as soon as I try to add the Cambridge. Does the new Twin allow for multiple sharcs per input channel?

This is kind of painful stuff to watch but it does seem like a decent upgrade of the tiny Apollo. The big rack ones are still where it's at for me, along with a proper, dedicated monitor controller, such as the Drawmer MC2.1.

I'm always blown away by the quality of the sound this little box can produce. Best investment I've made in years. Only a couple little gripes. The clicking on the buttons was a really bad design choice. It feels and sounds like something cheap. Also, it's a Thunderbolt chain stopper, meaning it has to be the last thing on the chain because it only has one Thunderbolt port. This can be a pain in the ass, because every other UA device in the chain has to be powered on for it to work, so there's a lot of needless cable swapping. Also, for $899 for the Duo, you'd think they could throw in a cable and maybe one of the MkII plugins. Instead, you get a bunch of legacy plugins that don't sound any better than Waves' or Slate Digital's offerings. (The settings and meters are different, but you can get the same quality once you learn the nuances of, say, all three 1176 emulations. Come on, UA! Throw us a bone and give us at least ONE plugin that takes advantage of the technology we're paying so dearly to use!

Hi, I have the MKII Wuad and set it up for a two piece vocal setup running backing tracks from laptop... all is setup but I’m not getting good power or presence from the vocals... can you advise? I’m going the live powered speakers

You can buy the Thunderbolt converter for like $50-$100 or The new Thunderbolt 3 apollos just came out, I'm gonna wait for the Apollo Twin mk iii which will be TB3 and a lil less $$ than the new apollos

And yes I could use the extra outs for some of my outboard gear... which I technically could do 2 channels at a time, but I also like to have 2 separate monitor outs... and it would be a lil silly to have an interface like this and a monitor controller. smh... everything else fits the bill

Do have a tutorial or can you make a video with using the Apollo MKII QUAD. I have a IMac, Protools & MPC Touch. UAD has Not Put Any tutorial that are useful. Such as do I setup my (Digital Input) at ADAT OR SPDIF. (MON LEVEL) ie; 20 dbu. Etc. Anything you do would be helpful.

It will use the UA DSP. Console is more for realtime input processing

Joe Cleveland Cmon dude, the unit isn't for a studio where your going to be tracking drums, orchestral etc... People get by just fine on it. I've worked on major motion pictures and tracked music for a living using these units. Obviously I didn't use it to do multitracking, I also work out of multiple locations around the world so it does a great job. We are all getting by fine bud.

Dont worry old twin user friends.Preamps are same as old twin so there is no much sound difference.Some people says"Converters are different on mk2 so.much more clear and depth"...Yes!They upgraded twin converters but old twins converters were already enough for get clear and great sound. So glad I left the UAD platform. Their plug-ins are dsp hogs. There's no way to use them without being tethered to a power supply or interface. They rerelease old plug-ins with quadruple the processing requirements. With today's CPUs, there's absolutely no need or excuse for a dsp system.

Not a very clear presentation of what this upgrade is(!) between all the salespitch on autopilot... A more powerful plugin engine, yes.. that's to be expected for a next generation. But is it ANY innovation here at all? This is a tempting unit to get, no doubt, but I expected more. After getting this, you still have to spend spend spend on other plugins to be a 'fully operational battlestation'... And the USB version? I'm definitely maybe on this one.

idk, ive seen this guy max out his dsp and it wont load more plugins... and he didnt have many going. had the 2 core... im not spending 1200 bucks... i put all that into my computer... and now i cant even use it. lol marketing scheme if you ask me. if you want the plugins, you have to buy this...

This unit is borderline false advertising. IT IS NOT windows compatible (unless your windows machine has a motherboard with thunderbolt capabilities and even then you need to buy and install a pcie card and also use an adapter. #WHATAJOKE

"..extra grunt DSP".. right. The damn sharc DSPs are so ridiculously old and outdated that this is not even funny any more. They were outdated at UAD-2 release but very few seemed to understand this at the time, claiming UAD plugins were so advanced that they take up a lot of DSP. Ignorance is bliss.. sigh.

Their plugin quality/reputation has made them arrogant. I would like this ease of use, but would have felt duped if I'd bought this glorious vending machine system. So.. what is the most competative product to UA Twin Mk2 for Windows users? A Slate product? Antelope Audio Zen Tour?
