tbh, almost all the hostels in Australia are super cute because there are just so many backpackers I've stayed in countless hostels, and Australia's are by far the nicest. almost all of them have hammocks, some are literally on the beach, etc.

I would say for the 8 weeks she spent there, she spent between $9,000 - $12,000 (Australian Dollars)... so quite a bit

I spent around 6000 euros on 6 months of backpacking Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand, including everything from flights, accommodation, food, etc. I know it can be done with less though, but it all depends on your lifestyle :)

The bug in your draw is called a cicada. They spend the majority of their life (17 years) underground and when they come to the surface, they only live for 5-6 weeks. It's more common to find the cicadas sheddings then it is to find the actual cicada :) Edit: The animal at the zoo is a wombat :)
