At first I questioned the backs but I actually really like it and I agree with you bc the ones that are matted and gold gild sides don't chip no where near as quickly plus I can tell from here they're amazing quality and perfect thickness to me. I look for several things that make the deck perfect to me and that deck is a great example of one that is exactly that. But I need to see the fronts to see. Oh wow I like the keywords and easy to read if your a beginner reader it's great as well.

One other thing to point out is Rachel Pollock wrote the guide book. I have this deck. I am unable to shuffle it, but for some reason, it is still in my collection. I'm hoping I can figure out a way to be able to use it. In the meantime, it sits on my shelf in like new condition. I tried to sell it to Half Price Books, but they will only give me a few dollars for it. 😢

The fool's letter mentions the trap made by the bird called "Black Thrush". That is the name it receives in my country, I don't know what it is called in the US. The point is that the Thrush lays eggs in the nests of other birds so that they can raise its children. The problem is that it usually lays those eggs in the nests of birds smaller than itself, so when the thrush chicks are born they grow faster than the chicks of the bird whose nest it has invaded. This causes the chicks of the invaded bird to die of hunger because the thrush chick is bigger and more aggressive and eats everything that the mother or father bird that owns the nest brings. That is why the image shows a small bird feeding a huge chick, making it a "fool" for feeding a chick that is not its own.

When I use this deck, I need to meditate for a while before to make the readings, because I have to connect with images and suits well. I usually make them for myself, not for customers. I love this deck, It makes me feel in peace and the same time makes my humanity understand how violent and unjust could be the real world of savage animals and plants. Each suit has a different border, which makes it easier to identify them.
